Kerala Public Service Commission (KPSC) is recruiting 1 Scheduled Castes Development Officer Grade II post in the Scheduled Castes Development Department. KPSC Scheduled Castes Development Officer Recruitment 2026 - 1 Post

Kerala Public Service Commission has issued Category No. 27/2026 for direct recruitment to Scheduled Castes Development Officer Grade II. The post belongs to the Scheduled Castes Development Department, and the notified vacancy is already in existence. The ranked list will be valid for at least 1 year and may continue up to 3 years as per Kerala PSC rules.

This role suits postgraduate candidates who want field and administrative work linked to welfare schemes. MSW or a postgraduate degree in Social Welfare, Sociology or Anthropology gets preference under the notification. Four percent reservation for differently abled candidates applies as per the Government order mentioned in the notice.

Who Can Apply?

• Qualification: You must have an M.A., M.Sc., M.Com or MSW degree from a recognised university.
• Preferred qualification: Preference will be given to candidates with MSW or postgraduate degree in Social Welfare, Sociology or Anthropology.
• Recognised degrees: Degrees from UGC-approved universities or institutions established by Parliament or State Legislature are acceptable as per the notification.
• Equivalent qualification: Government-recognised equivalent or higher qualifications can be considered when supported by the relevant Government order.

Age Limit

• You should be between 18 and 40 years old.
• You must have been born between 02 January 1986 and 01 January 2008, both dates included.
• Age relaxation: OBC, SC and ST candidates get usual relaxation under Kerala PSC rules.

Salary

• The pay scale is Rs. 43,400 to Rs. 91,200 per month.
• You will also get DA, HRA and other allowances as per Kerala Government rules.
• After appointment, you must complete 3 months of training before being posted as Scheduled Castes Development Officer Grade II.

After joining, the probation period is 2 years on duty within a continuous period of 3 years. The 3-month training period will not be counted for probation or increment. During training, pay and allowances will be fixed as described in the notification, and posting will be arranged by the Director of Scheduled Castes Development Department.

You should keep your degree proof, age proof, community proof and disability certificate if claimed ready for verification. If your community entry differs from the SSLC record, Kerala PSC may ask for a gazette notification along with the required certificate.

Selection Process

The selection will follow the Kerala PSC process for Category No. 27/2026. If a written, OMR or online test is conducted, you must submit confirmation through your One Time Registration profile.

1. Written/OMR/Online Test: Kerala PSC will announce the exam details in the examination calendar if a test is scheduled.
2. Document Verification: Original documents for qualification, age, community, disability claim if applicable and other profile claims must be produced when asked.
3. Ranked List and Advice: Appointment advice will be issued from the ranked list against the notified and reported vacancies.
4. Training: Selected candidates must complete 3 months of training arranged by the Director of Scheduled Castes Development Department.
5. Probation Tests: During probation, appointees must pass Manual of Office Procedure, Account Test (Lower), and the Hand Book of Scheduled Castes Development Department test unless already passed.
