National Institute of Technology Calicut (NIT Calicut) Project Technical Support - III Recruitment 2026 - 1 Post
NIT Calicut's Office of Research and Consultancy has released a notification to fill 1 Project Technical Support - III post on a contract basis for an ICMR-sponsored research project titled "Development of a 4D Bioprinted Lung-on-a-Chip Model with Plant Derived Bioinks for Studying Micro/Nano-plastic Inhalation Toxicity Using Fluorescent Carbon Dot Tracers" in the Department of Biosciences and Bioengineering. This is a one-year contract position that may be extended further depending on performance and fund availability. NIT Calicut is one of India's premier centrally-funded technical institutes, and its Office of Research and Consultancy regularly runs sponsored projects in cutting-edge fields such as biomedical engineering and materials science. This particular project focuses on building tissue-engineered lung models using 3D bioprinting technology and plant-derived bioinks — a novel approach to studying how micro and nano-plastics affect human lung tissue when inhaled. Working on this project gives you exposure to advanced techniques such as organ-on-chip fabrication and fluorescent-tracer-based toxicity studies, skills that are increasingly in demand across biomedical research labs in India.
Who Can Apply?
NIT Calicut is looking for a self-motivated candidate who can independently handle lab work related to tissue engineering and biomaterials. Both qualification pathways below are accepted, so check which one applies to you before applying.
- Qualification: PG degree in Biochemistry / Biotechnology / Polymer Chemistry / Materials Science with a minimum CGPA of 6.5, OR a graduate engineering degree in Life Sciences / Materials Science with a minimum CGPA of 6.5.
- Desirable Skills: Hands-on experience in animal cell culture, organ-on-chip device development, biomaterials and 3D bioprinting, hydrogel synthesis and material characterization, nanomaterial synthesis, and nanofabrication techniques.
- The Institute may relax the qualification and experience requirements for candidates with exceptional credentials.
Age Limit
- The preferred age limit for this post is up to 35 years (this is an optional criterion mentioned in the notification).
- The Institute may relax the age limit for candidates with exceptional credentials.
Salary
