Madhya Pradesh Public Service Commission (MPPSC) Assistant Director Recruitment 2026 - 3 Posts

MPPSC has released Advertisement No. 12/2026 (dated 6 July 2026) to fill 3 permanent, gazetted Class-II posts of Assistant Director in the Higher Education Department of the Madhya Pradesh Government. Selected candidates will serve a 2-year probation period before confirmation. The category-wise break-up of the 3 posts is:

• Unreserved (UR): 1 post
• Scheduled Tribe (ST): 1 post
• Other Backward Class (OBC): 1 post

The reserved post is only for Madhya Pradesh domicile ST and OBC candidates. Candidates from other states or categories can apply only for the unreserved post. No seats are reserved for women or PwBD candidates in this recruitment.

Who Can Apply?

• Qualification: Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) from a recognized university.
• Additional Qualification: You must have passed the Accounts Training conducted by the Treasury & Accounts Directorate, OR passed the SAS (Part 1) exam.
• Experience: At least 5 years of experience in accounts and audit (Ankeshan) work, certified by your department head or an equivalent competent authority.
• You must hold all these qualifications by 16 August 2026, the last date to apply — qualifications acquired after this date will not be considered.
• You are not eligible if you have been convicted of a crime against women, or if you have more than 2 living children born on or after 26 January 2001.

Age Limit

• You should be between 21 and 40 years old.
• Age is counted as on 1 January 2027.
• Your date of birth must match the one recorded in your 10th (High School) marksheet.
• Age Relaxation: Available for reserved categories as per Appendix-1 of the official notification.

Salary

• Selected candidates will get a salary of Rs. 15,600 to Rs. 39,100 per month plus Grade Pay of Rs. 5,400.
• You will also get DA, HRA, and other allowances as per Madhya Pradesh government rules.

Selection Process

Selection is normally done through:

1. Document Screening: Your application and qualifying exam marks are screened against the notified vacancies.
2. Interview: Full marks are 100. You need at least 41 marks (Unreserved) or 31 marks (Reserved/PwBD) to qualify.

The number of candidates called for interview depends on the number of posts: up to 12 candidates for 1 post, 24 candidates for 2-3 posts, 36 candidates for 4-6 posts, and so on, based on your rank in the qualifying exam within your category.

If more than 500 candidates apply, MPPSC will conduct a written exam first. Candidates scoring in the top 3x per category on the written exam will then be called for interview, and final selection will be based on combined written exam and interview marks — in that case, there is no minimum qualifying mark for the interview.

Note: The final result of this recruitment will be subject to the outcome of pending court cases (SLP 8764/2023 and WP 5596/2024) relating to OBC reservation.

2. Fill in the online application form between 17 July 2026 and 16 August 2026.
3. Pay the application fee online via credit/debit card or internet banking — demand drafts and cheques are not accepted.
4. Submit and take a printout of your application.
5. Send your printed application with all documents to the Commission office by 25 August 2026 (6:00 PM) to avoid a late fee.

If you miss the 25 August deadline, you can still submit your documents between 27 August and 3 September 2026 with a late fee of Rs. 3,000.

MPPSC does not retain your educational, caste, or domicile certificates — you only need to bring self-attested copies for matching at the interview stage.
