ESIC Hospital, Ezhukone, Kollam has released Advertisement No. 04/2026 for engagement of 8 Specialists (Full Time/Part Time) and 15 Senior Residents (1 Year) across departments including General Medicine, Obstetrics & Gynaecology, Anaesthesia, Accident & Emergency and ICU. This is a direct walk-in recruitment — there is no online registration process, and eligible doctors can appear with their documents on the scheduled date. Both fresh postgraduates and experienced specialists can apply depending on the post, and the hospital may fill vacant reserved posts temporarily with Unreserved candidates if no eligible candidate turns up in that category.

If a category has no eligible candidate, the post may be filled temporarily for 44 days with an Unreserved candidate.

Who Can Apply?

For Specialist (Full Time/Part Time):

• Qualification: MBBS with TCMC registration plus a Postgraduate Degree/DNB or Diploma in the concerned specialty. For ICU, a PG degree/diploma in Anaesthesia, General Medicine, Pulmonology or Critical Care registered with the Medical Council is needed.
• Experience: You need 3 years of experience in the specialty if you hold a PG degree, or 5 years if you hold a diploma.

For Senior Resident (1 Year):

• Qualification: Postgraduate Degree/DNB or Diploma in the concerned specialty after MBBS with TCMC registration. Casualty department prefers a PG Degree in Emergency Medicine, and MBBS doctors with 2 years of relevant experience may also be considered for Casualty if no postgraduate candidate is available.
• Candidates who have already completed 3 years of Senior Residency elsewhere are not eligible to apply.

Age Limit

• Specialist (Full Time/Part Time): Not exceeding 69 years as on the date of interview. Tenure beyond 70 years is not allowed.
• Senior Resident: Not exceeding 45 years as on the date of interview, with age relaxation for reserved categories as per rules.

Salary

• Full Time Specialist: Approximately Rs. 1,40,817 per month. The contract runs for 3 years with annual performance review, and you get 4 days of leave for every month worked, encashable up to 30 days.
• Part Time Specialist (Entry Level): Rs. 60,000 per month for a 16-hour week (4 hours a day, 4 days a week), plus Rs. 15,000 as visiting charges for emergencies and Rs. 800 for every extra hour. Part Time Specialists are not entitled to paid leave.
• Senior Resident: Total emoluments under Level 11 of the 7th CPC, approximately Rs. 1,40,817 per month for PG Degree holders, for a 1-year contract. Diploma/non-degree holders do not get this allowance, and you get one Casual Leave for every completed working month.
• Private practice is not allowed for any Specialist or Senior Resident, and you must be available on call 24x7.

Application Fee

• General / OBC: Rs. 250 (Demand Draft in favour of "ESIC Fund A/c No.1" payable at SBI Keralapuram Branch)
• SC / ST: Rs. 50
• Female candidates / PwD: No fee
• Payment mode: Demand Draft only, at the venue. The fee once paid will not be refunded.

Selection Process (Walk-In Interview — No Written Exam)

Selection is through a direct walk-in interview:

1. Document Verification: Bring all original certificates with one self-attested photocopy of each.
2. Walk-In Interview: Held at ESIC Hospital, Ezhukone on the scheduled date.
3. Medical Fitness Check: Final appointment is subject to medical fitness assessed by the Nodal Medical Board.

Selected candidates must sign a contract agreement on non-judicial stamp paper and pay a refundable security deposit of Rs. 30,000. Selected Specialists also need a professional indemnity insurance policy — Rs. 30 lakh cover for anaesthesiologists and surgeons, Rs. 20 lakh for general surgeons/gynaecologists, and Rs. 10 lakh for physicians, dentists, radiologists and pathologists — submitted within 7 days of joining.
