ESIC Medical College and Hospital, Naroda-Bapunagar, Ahmedabad has announced a walk-in interview for 20 Senior Resident posts under the Residency Scheme, spread across departments such as Anesthesiology, General Medicine, General Surgery, ICU, Nephrology, PICU, and more. There is no written exam — eligible candidates just need to walk in with their documents. Out of the 20 posts, 1 vacancy is reserved for PwBD candidates, and the rest are split across UR, EWS, OBC, SC, and ST categories.

Who Can Apply?

• Qualification: MBBS with a PG Degree, DNB, or Diploma in the concerned specialty from a Government-recognized university or college.
• Registration: You must be registered with the Gujarat Medical Council or National Medical Council. If registered in another state, you must register with the Gujarat Medical Council at the time of joining.
• For the Nephrology post, you need an MBBS with a PG Degree/DNB/Diploma in Medicine or Pediatrics — preference goes to DM/DNB Nephrology candidates.

Age Limit

• You should not exceed 45 years as on the date of interview.
• Age Relaxation: 3 years for OBC candidates, 5 years for SC/ST candidates.

Salary

• You will get a basic pay of Rs. 67,700 per month under Level-11, Index-1 of the 7th CPC Pay Matrix (pre-revised basic pay Rs. 18,750 in PB-3 with Grade Pay Rs. 6,600), plus allowances as per ESIC rules.
• Note: Rs. 1,688 is deducted if you hold only a Diploma, and Rs. 2,813 is deducted if you don't hold a PG Degree/Diploma.

• UR / OBC candidates: Rs. 500 (Demand Draft in favour of "ESIC Fund Account No. 1", payable at Ahmedabad)
• SC / ST / PWD / Female candidates: No fee

Selection Process (No Written Exam)

Selection is through a walk-in interview only:

1. Document Verification: Report by 9:30 AM at the Conference Hall (2nd Floor), ESIC Model Hospital, Bapunagar, Ahmedabad.
2. Interview: Only candidates who clear document verification appear before the interview panel.

How to Apply

1. Report to the office of the Medical Superintendent, ESIC Model Hospital, Bapunagar, Ahmedabad on 23 July 2026 by 10:00 AM — applications received after this time will not be entertained.
2. Bring self-attested photocopies of your Matriculation certificate, caste certificate, MBBS certificate, PG Degree/Diploma certificate, and Gujarat Medical Council/MCI registration.
3. Carry the originals for document verification, plus two recent passport-size photographs.
4. Complete document verification at 9:30 AM, then appear before the interview panel.

Terms & Conditions

• The total tenure of Senior Residency is 3 years, including any earlier service as SR on an ad-hoc or regular basis in a government institution. Appointment is initially for 1 year, renewed annually based on satisfactory performance.
• Selected candidates must deposit Rs. 30,000 as a security deposit on a Rs. 300 non-judicial stamp paper at the time of joining.
• No service benefits like PF, Pension, Gratuity, Seniority, Promotion, or leave will be admissible.
• No TA/DA will be paid for attending the interview or joining.
• Private practice of any kind is not allowed.
• Candidates working in a Government/Private Hospital or Institute must bring an NOC from their department at the time of interview.
• If you have already completed 3 years of Senior Residency in any government hospital, you are not eligible to apply under this scheme.
• Resignation requires 1 month's notice, or pay in lieu of notice.
• Hostel accommodation and quarters will not be provided.
• The Dean reserves the right to fill all posts, some posts, or no posts, without assigning any reason.
