Who Can Apply?

For Specialist (Full Time/Part Time):

• Qualification: MBBS with Travancore-Cochin Medical Council (TCMC) registration, plus a Postgraduate Degree, DNB, or Diploma in the concerned specialty. For ICU posts, a PG Degree/Diploma in Anaesthesia, General Medicine, Pulmonology, or Critical Care is needed.
• Experience: You need 3 years of experience in the relevant specialty if you hold a PG degree, or 5 years if you hold a diploma.

For Senior Resident (1 Year):

• Qualification: PG Degree/DNB or Diploma in the concerned specialty after MBBS, with TCMC registration. All additional postgraduate qualifications must also be registered with the Medical Council.
• For Casualty (Accident & Emergency): A PG Degree in Emergency Medicine is preferred. In its absence, PG degree/diploma holders in Anaesthesiology, General Medicine, Pulmonary Medicine, or Critical Care will be considered. If no postgraduate candidates are available, MBBS doctors with at least 2 years of experience in the relevant specialty may be selected.
• Diploma and non-degree holders are not eligible for the postgraduate degree allowance in the Senior Resident pay.

Age Limit

• Specialist (Full Time/Part Time): Should not exceed 69 years as on the date of interview. Tenure beyond 70 years is not allowed.
• Senior Resident: Should not exceed 45 years as on the date of interview (21 July 2026).
• Age Relaxation: Available for reserved category candidates as per rules.
• Candidates who have already completed 3 years of Regular Senior Residency are not eligible for the Senior Resident walk-in interview.

Salary

• Full Time Specialist: Approximately Rs. 1,40,817 per month, for a 3-year contract (renewed yearly based on performance) with working hours 9 AM to 4 PM on weekdays and 9 AM to 1 PM on Saturdays.
• Part Time Specialist (Entry Level): Rs. 60,000 per month for 16 hours a week (4 hours a day, 4 days a week), plus Rs. 15,000 as visiting charges in emergencies (if willing) and Rs. 800 for every additional hour beyond 16 hours.
• Senior Resident: Approximately Rs. 1,40,817 per month (Level 11, 7th CPC) for PG Degree holders. Diploma and non-degree holders get a reduced amount as they are not eligible for the postgraduate allowance.
• Remuneration is revisable from time to time as per ESIC Headquarters instructions.

Selection Process (Walk-in Interview, No Written Exam)

Selection is done directly through a walk-in interview:
