Kerala Public Service Commission (Kerala PSC) Armed Police Constable Recruitment 2026 - 8 Posts

The Kerala Public Service Commission (Kerala PSC) has released two linked notifications, Category No. 068/2026 and 069/2026, to fill 8 Police Constable (Trainee) posts in the Armed Police Battalions of Kerala. This is a district-wise NCA (community) recruitment, so posts are set aside battalion-by-battalion for the SCCC and Viswakarma communities only. Selection is made on a battalion-wise basis, and once appointed you can be transferred only within the District Armed Reserve linked to your battalion. Applications from candidates outside the notified communities will be rejected without any rejection memo.

Vacancy Breakdown

There are 8 posts in total, spread across five battalions and two communities:

SCCC means Scheduled Caste Converted to Christianity. These posts are under Category No. 068/2026 (SCCC) and 069/2026 (Viswakarma).

Who Can Apply?

• Qualification: You must have passed Higher Secondary (Plus Two) or an equivalent exam.
• Community: Only candidates belonging to the SCCC (Scheduled Caste Converted to Christianity) or Viswakarma community can apply.
• Gender and disability: Women candidates and differently-abled candidates are not eligible under this notification.
• Physical fitness: You must meet the height, chest and eyesight standards and clear the physical efficiency test (details below).

Age Limit

• You should be between 18 and 33 years old, meaning you must be born between 2 January 1993 and 1 January 2008 (both dates included).
• SCCC relaxation: Candidates who converted to Christianity from SC after turning 18, and their children, get age relaxation up to 35 years (born between 2 January 1991 and 1 January 2008).
• Ex-servicemen: The upper age limit is relaxed up to 45 years.

Salary

• Selected candidates will get a pay scale of Rs. 31,100 to Rs. 66,800 per month.
• You will also get Dearness Allowance, House Rent Allowance and other allowances as per Kerala Government rules.

Physical Standards

Body Measurements (Male candidates only):

• Height: Minimum 168 cm.
• Chest: Minimum 81 cm with a minimum expansion of 5 cm.
• Eyesight: Distant vision 6/6 and near vision 0.5 Snellen in each eye, without glasses. Colour blindness, squint or any eye defect is a disqualification.

Physical Efficiency Test (qualify any 5 of these 8 events):

• 100 metres run in 14 seconds
• High jump of 132.20 cm
• Long jump of 457.20 cm
• Putting the shot (7264 gm) to 609.60 cm
• Throwing the cricket ball to 6096 cm
• Rope climbing (hands only) of 365.80 cm
• Pull-ups / chinning 8 times
• 1500 metres run in 5 minutes 44 seconds

You must also produce a medical fitness certificate from a Government Medical Officer not below the rank of Assistant Surgeon at the time of the physical test.

Application Fee

• All candidates: No application fee. Kerala PSC does not charge any fee for this recruitment.

Selection Process

Selection is done battalion-wise against the mother ranked list (Category No. 593/2023) through these stages:

1. Written / OMR Test: If the Commission conducts a written or OMR test, you must confirm through your One Time Registration profile and download the admission ticket.
2. Physical Measurement and Physical Efficiency Test (PET): You must meet the body measurements and qualify in any 5 of the 8 physical events.
3. Medical Examination: You must submit an original medical certificate proving fitness and eyesight without glasses.
4. Document Verification: Original certificates for qualification, age and community are checked before appointment.

Bonus marks: NCC certificate holders get weightage of 2% (A), 3% (B) and 5% (C). Student Police Cadet (SPC) certificate holders and meritorious sports persons also get extra marks.

3. Log in with your User-ID and password.
