KPSC Microbiologist Recruitment 2026 - 1 Post

Kerala Public Service Commission has issued Category No. 28/2026 for the post of Microbiologist (Bacteriologist) (By Transfer). The post is in Kerala Water Authority, and the vacancy is currently available. The ranked list will be valid for at least 1 year and can continue up to 3 years, subject to Kerala PSC rules.

This is not an open recruitment for all graduates. Only lower-category in-service staff of Kerala Water Authority can apply under this notification, subject to the service rules named in the PDF. If qualified candidates are not available under this channel, remaining vacancies may be filled from the separate direct recruitment ranked list for the post.

Who Can Apply?

• Service condition: You must be working in Kerala Water Authority in any lower category covered under G.O.(P) No. 1/2023/WRD dated 27 January 2023 or the Kerala Water Authority Administrative, Ministerial and Last Grade Service Rules, 2011.
• Minimum service: You need at least 2 years of service in the eligible lower category.
• Qualification: You need a Bachelor's Degree in Science with Microbiology as the main subject.
• Recognised institution: The degree must be from a UGC-recognised university, a National Institute established by the Central Government, or an institution established by the Government of Kerala.
• Equivalent qualification: Equivalent qualifications recognised by Government orders can be considered when proper proof is produced.

Age Limit

• You should be between 18 and 50 years old.
• You must have been born between 02 January 1976 and 01 January 2008, both dates included.
• No further age relaxation is admissible for this by-transfer recruitment.

Salary

• The pay scale is Rs. 36,500 to Rs. 89,000 per month.
• You will also get DA, HRA and other allowances as applicable under Kerala Water Authority and Kerala Government rules.
• Probation will apply as per the Special Rules of Kerala Water Authority.

This by-transfer notice has a strict service filter. The notification says reservation under Rules 14 to 17 of Part II KS&SSR is not applicable for this selection. It also says that if no qualified in-service candidates are available, remaining vacancies may be filled from the direct recruitment ranked list for the post.

Selection Process

The selection will follow the Kerala PSC process for Category No. 28/2026. If a written, OMR or online test is conducted, you must give exam confirmation through your One Time Registration profile.

3. Service Certificate Verification: You must produce the prescribed service certificate from the Head of Office or Department when Kerala PSC asks for it.
4. Document Verification: Original documents for qualification, service, age and other profile claims must be produced when called.
5. Ranked List and Advice: Appointment advice will be issued from the ranked list as per the notified and reported vacancies.
