Forest Research Institute (FRI), under the Indian Council of Forestry Research and Education (ICFRE), is hiring for the project Genetic improvements of Azadirachta indica to develop dwarf genotypes and neem products with enriched active constituents. The active interview covers Project Scientist-II and Project Associate positions in the Genetics and Tree Improvement division. Who Can Apply?

Project Scientist-II

• Qualification: Ph.D. in Forestry, Forest Genetics and Tree Improvement, or Forest Biotechnology.
• Experience: You need at least 3 years of research experience in forest genetics, tree improvement, or forest biotechnology.
• Useful skills: Working experience in forest genetics and tree improvement, IPR work for tree varieties or patents, and analytical ability using modern software.

Project Associate - Agriculture/Forestry

• Qualification: M.Sc. in Agriculture (Genetics and Plant Breeding) or M.Sc. in Forestry (Forest Genetics and Tree Improvement).
• Useful skills: Experience in tree improvement or forest genetics will help.

Project Associate - Botany/Biotechnology

• Qualification: M.Sc. in Botany or Biotechnology.
• Useful skills: Experience in tissue culture of forest trees or biotechnology tools for forest trees is preferred.

Project Associate - Chemistry/Biochemistry

• Qualification: M.Sc. in Chemistry or Biochemistry.
• Useful skills: Experience in biochemical analysis of forest trees or medicinal plants is preferred.

Field work note: You should be ready to travel, stay in difficult field locations, and collect samples for project work when needed.

Age Limit

• Project Scientist-II: Maximum age is 40 years as on 01 June 2026.
• Project Associate: Maximum age is 35 years as on 01 June 2026.
• Age Relaxation: Up to 5 years relaxation is mentioned for SC/ST, Women, Physically Handicapped and OBC candidates.

Salary

• Project Scientist-II: Fixed pay of Rs. 67,000 per month.
• Project Associate: Fixed pay of Rs. 25,000 per month.
• Tenure: The post is initially for the project duration shown in the notice, or up to project completion/fund availability, whichever is earlier.
