The Department of Chemistry, Institute of Science, Banaras Hindu University (BHU) has advertised 1 JRF position under an Anusandhan National Research Foundation (ANRF) sponsored project, led by Principal Investigator Dr. Kanak Roy, Assistant Professor. The project focuses on designing chemical synthesis strategies to prepare atomically dispersed metal catalysts on oxide solid-solutions, screening suitable support materials, and identifying metal promoters that improve the conversion of CO2 into green methanol through a thermocatalytic route. As a JRF, you would help test the catalytic activity and stability of these materials in a continuous-flow fixed-bed reactor, and use in-situ techniques to study how their structure affects performance. The post is purely temporary and co-terminates with the 3-year project. Candidates with a strong chemistry background and research experience in heterogeneous catalysis, XPS, or electron microscopy are especially encouraged to apply.

Who Can Apply?

• Qualification: M.Sc in Chemistry with at least 55% aggregate marks (or equivalent grade), and you must have qualified UGC/CSIR NET or GATE.
• Preferred: Prior research experience in heterogeneous catalysis is preferred. Practical experience in XPS, Scanning/Transmission Electron Microscopy is a bonus.

Age Limit

• The upper age limit is 28 years, as per ANRF and Government of India rules.
• Age Relaxation: SC/ST/PH candidates get a 5-year relaxation.

Salary

• You will get Rs. 37,000 per month plus HRA in the 1st and 2nd year of the fellowship.
• In the 3rd year, your fellowship goes up to Rs. 42,000 per month plus HRA.

Selection Process (No Written Exam)

The selection will be done in 1 stage:
