Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Mandi, located in Himachal Pradesh, has released Advertisement No. IIT Mandi/Recruit./NTS/2026/02 inviting online applications from Indian nationals for 11 Non-Teaching posts spread across medical, civil engineering, IT, administrative and library departments. All 11 posts are based at the IIT Mandi campus in Kamand, District Mandi, Himachal Pradesh, and each post carries its own pay level, qualification and age limit. Who Can Apply?

Chief Medical Officer (Level-13 - Rs. 1,23,100/month):

• Qualification: MBBS with compulsory rotating internship, OR a postgraduate diploma in an appropriate branch of Medicine, OR MD/MS in an appropriate branch of Medicine.
• Experience: Minimum 5 years' service experience in a relevant field at Pay Level-12 or equivalent.

Project Engineer & Estate Officer/Executive Engineer (Level-11 - Rs. 67,700/month):

• Qualification: Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from a recognized university/institute.
• Experience: 5 years' experience as Engineer/Assistant Engineer (PB-3, GP Rs. 5,400) with CPWD, State PWD, a PSU, university or similar central/state government organization.
• Desirable: Knowledge of CAD software and a postgraduate degree in Civil/Structural Engineering with first division or 6.5 CGPA.

Medical Officer (Level-10 - Rs. 56,100/month):

• Qualification: MBBS with internship plus 1 year of hospital experience, OR a postgraduate diploma plus 1 year of experience, OR MD/MS in Medicine.

Technical Officer (Level-10 - Rs. 56,100/month):

• Qualification: B.E./B.Tech/MCA/M.Sc./M.Tech in Computer Science or IT with 1 year of relevant experience and a consistently good academic record.
• Desirable: Knowledge of Linux/Unix systems, software installation, and network administration.

Junior Superintendent (Level-06 - Rs. 35,400/month):

• Qualification: Bachelor's degree (minimum 55% marks) with 8 years' relevant experience, OR a Master's degree (minimum 55% marks) with 5 years' relevant experience.
• You should know office procedures, computer applications and secretarial practices used in central government/academic administration.

Junior Library Information Assistant (Level-04 - Rs. 25,500/month):

• Qualification: Diploma in Library Science from a recognized university with 5 years' experience in a library or library computerization.

Age Limit

• Maximum age is 55 years for Chief Medical Officer, 45 years for Project Engineer & Estate Officer, 40 years for Medical Officer and Technical Officer, 35 years for Junior Superintendent, and 30 years for Junior Library Information Assistant, as on the last date of application.
• Age Relaxation: SC/ST/OBC(NCL)/EWS candidates get relaxation as per government rules. PwD candidates and Ex-servicemen also get age relaxation as per rules.
• Regular IIT employees with the required qualification can apply for direct recruitment across the IIT system up to 50 years of age.

Salary

• Selected candidates get a monthly salary between Rs. 25,500 and Rs. 1,23,100 depending on the post, under Pay Level 4 to Level 13 of the 7th Central Pay Commission.
• You will also get DA, HRA, TA and other allowances as per central government rules.

• UR / EWS (Post Code 005-006: Junior Superintendent, Junior Library Information Assistant): Rs. 500

• SC / ST / Women / PwD / Ex-Servicemen (Post Code 001-004): Rs. 500 (processing fee only)
• SC / ST / Women / PwD / Ex-Servicemen (Post Code 005-006): Rs. 300 (processing fee only)
• SC, ST, Women, PwD and Ex-Servicemen candidates are exempted from the application fee but must still pay a processing fee. The fee once paid is not refundable.

Selection Process

The selection will be done in the following stages:

1. Application Screening: Your application is checked against the eligibility criteria, and a Screening Committee may shortlist candidates based on qualification and experience.
2. Written Test / Trade Test: Conducted where the Institute considers it necessary for the post.

5. Final Merit List
