NEIGRIHMS is an autonomous institute under the Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, Government of India, located at Mawdiangdiang in Shillong. It is the premier medical and nursing training institute for the entire northeastern region, and its College of Nursing trains students who go on to work across government and private hospitals. The Institute has released an advertisement for 2 Tutor posts in the College of Nursing. One post is for the Unreserved (UR) category and one is for OBC candidates. The UR post is a lien vacancy — it stays open only as long as the current lien is maintained by the original incumbent, and if that person is repatriated back or the lien period lapses, the appointment made against this vacancy will stand terminated. If the lien holder instead chooses to be absorbed elsewhere, the candidate recruited against the lien vacancy will be considered for regularization after completing the prescribed probation period. Who Can Apply?

• Qualification: You need an M.Sc (Nursing) degree from a recognized Institution/University.
• Category Split: 1 post is Unreserved (UR, lien vacancy) and 1 post is OBC.
• OBC Candidates: You must produce a valid OBC (Non-Creamy Layer) certificate issued in the current financial year 2026-27, in the format prescribed by the Government of India.
• Government Employees: If you currently work in a Central/State/UT Government organization, PSU, or Autonomous Body, you must submit a No Objection Certificate (NOC) from your employer along with your application, or at the time of interview.
• Ex-Servicemen: If you are seeking age relaxation as an Ex-Serviceman or Commissioned Officer, you must produce your Discharge Book or equivalent documents from the competent authority.
• You must ensure you meet all eligibility conditions before applying — incomplete applications will be rejected, and simply meeting the minimum qualification does not guarantee you will be called for interview.

Age Limit

• You should not be older than 35 years. This is counted as on the last date of submission of application.
• Age Relaxation: Government servants get up to 5 years relaxation as per instructions issued by the Central Government.
• Reservation and age relaxation for SC/ST/OBC/EWS/PwBD/Ex-Servicemen candidates will be given as per Government of India rules.

Salary

• Selected candidates will get a salary of Rs. 56,100 to Rs. 1,77,500 per month under Level-10 of the 7th Central Pay Commission Pay Matrix.
• You will also get DA, HRA, TA and other allowances as per Central Government rules.
• Institute accommodation may also be provided, subject to availability of quarters.

Selection Process

The selection will be done in the following stages:

1. Screening of Applications: The Institute shortlists candidates based on qualification and experience. Meeting the minimum qualification does not by itself guarantee an interview call.
2. Interview: Shortlisted candidates are called for a personal interview.
3. Document Verification: You must produce original certificates and an NOC (if currently employed in government service) at the time of interview, without which you will not be allowed to proceed further in the recruitment process.
4. Medical Examination: Selected candidates must clear a medical fitness check by the designated Medical Board before joining.

The Institute's decision on eligibility, screening and selection is final, and no correspondence on this will be entertained. NEIGRIHMS also reserves the right to reject or accept any candidature without assigning a reason, and canvassing of any kind will lead to disqualification.

3. Email your completed application with self-attested documents to ar-esttii@neigrihms.gov.in before the last date.
4. Send a signed hard copy of your application, self-attested documents and a passport-size photograph by Speed Post/Registered Post to The Director, NEIGRIHMS, Director's Administrative Block, Mawdiangdiang, Shillong - 793018, so that it reaches within the last date.
5. Superscribe the envelope with "Application for the Post of Tutor, College of Nursing".
6. The Institute will not be responsible for any postal delay, so plan to send your hard copy well in advance.
