All India Institute of Medical Sciences, Rishikesh (AIIMS Rishikesh) Project Research Scientist Recruitment 2026

AIIMS Rishikesh has released a notification to hire a Project Research Scientist - I for the extramural research project titled "Studies of Heart & Kidney Protection with BI 690517 in Combination with Empagliflozin" — an international, multicentre, randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled clinical trial studying the aldosterone synthase inhibitor BI 690517 combined with empagliflozin in patients with chronic kidney disease. The project is a joint collaboration between the Department of Nephrology, AIIMS Rishikesh and GIS Pvt Ltd, Delhi, and needs manpower to help run the clinical trial smoothly. This is a purely contractual position, not a permanent AIIMS job — ideal for candidates with a nursing or medical lab technology background who are comfortable with patient sample collection, data handling and report writing. The initial contract is for 1 year from the date of appointment, extendable annually up to 5 years or till the project ends, whichever comes first, with your performance reviewed through an Employee Performance Indicator. AIIMS Rishikesh regularly runs such extramural research projects in partnership with pharmaceutical and research organisations, and this role gives healthcare professionals a chance to gain hands-on clinical research experience in a multicentre international trial setting. If you are a nursing or lab technology professional looking to build your profile in clinical research, this project offers valuable exposure to the Good Clinical Practice (GCP) protocols used in international drug trials.

Who Can Apply?

  • Qualification: B.Sc Nursing, OR GNM Nursing with at least 2 years' experience in a 200-bedded hospital, OR B.Sc in Medical Laboratory Technology (MLT).
  • Desirable skills: Proficiency in computer handling — MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint — along with knowledge of statistical tools.
  • Experience: Experience in data collection, data analysis, data handling and report writing is preferred, along with experience in patient sample collection.
  • Communication: You should have excellent written and oral communication skills, since the role involves coordinating with the study team and preparing reports.
  • Work profile: Your duties will include assisting in conducting, monitoring and coordinating the project's activities, handling administrative and file processing work, and preparing regular reports for the Principal Investigator.
  • Note: Only apply if your qualification and experience match one of the three eligible categories listed above — GNM Nursing candidates specifically need 2 years' experience in a 200-bedded hospital.

Salary

  • Selected candidates will get a consolidated salary of around Rs. 35,000 per month.
  • No other allowances or facilities, apart from the consolidated salary, will be admissible.
  • No TA/DA will be paid for attending the interview.
  • Remember, this is not a permanent employment — it is a contractual post tied to the project's duration, so no claim for any other regular AIIMS Rishikesh post will be entertained.
  • If your performance is not found satisfactory by the Principal Investigator/Nodal Officer, your appointment may be terminated at any time without prior notice or compensation.
  • If you wish to leave the position, you need to serve one month's notice; if you serve less, an amount equal to one month's salary must be deposited to get your relieving certificate.
