Who Can Apply?

Retired Technical Officer/Retired Range Officer:

  • You must be a retired Technical Officer or Range Officer who worked in a forest research organization or forest department (state/central government or autonomous body).
  • You need at least 25 years of experience in silviculture and forest management, including natural/artificial regeneration, tending, and felling operations.
  • You should know Sal tree conditions in the Shiwalik/terai region of Uttarakhand and be physically fit to work in hilly terrain.

Senior Research Fellow (SRF):

  • First Class M.Sc. in Botany, Forestry, or Environment Management with 2 years of research experience.

Senior Project Fellow (SPF) and Junior Project Fellow (JPF):

  • First Class M.Sc. in Forestry, Botany, or Agroforestry (exact subject depends on the project).

Project Assistant (PA):

  • B.Sc. in Forestry, Botany, Biology, or Agriculture (exact subject depends on the project).

Field Assistant (FA):

  • Intermediate (12th Pass), with the ability to do extensive touring and basic computer knowledge.

Age Limit

  • Retired Technical Officer/Retired Range Officer: Maximum 65 years as on the date of advertisement.
  • Senior Research Fellow/Senior Project Fellow: Maximum 32 years as on 01 June 2026.
  • Junior Project Fellow: Maximum 28 years as on 01 June 2026.
  • Age Relaxation: Up to 5 years for SC/ST, Women, Physically Handicapped, and OBC candidates.

  • The Senior Research Fellow post also gets HRA in addition to the fellowship.

Selection Process (Walk-in Interview, No Written Exam)

There is no written exam for these fellowship posts. Selection happens directly through a walk-in interview:

  1. Document Verification: Bring your bio-data, a recent passport-size photo, and self-attested copies of your educational certificates and relevant documents.
  2. Interview: Eligible candidates are interviewed on the spot by the selection panel.

If you are applying for the Retired Technical Officer/Retired Range Officer post, also bring your LPC (Last Pay Certificate) and a recent Pension Slip.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in field surveys, sample collection, and data recording for the assigned research project
  • Support nursery development, seed collection, and plantation activities where applicable
  • Conduct extensive touring and site visits as required by the project
  • Maintain accurate records, reports, and documentation of field and lab work
  • Use MS Office and statistical tools to compile and analyze project data
  • Coordinate with the Principal Investigator and project team on assigned tasks
  • Assist senior researchers in monitoring and evaluation of project activities
