RGNAU Medical Consultants and Health Inspector Recruitment 2026: Overview
Rajiv Gandhi National Aviation University (RGNAU), a Central University under the Ministry of Civil Aviation, is arranging specialist clinical and campus public-health support at Fursatganj, Amethi. The engagement covers women's health, child health and environmental hygiene, bringing medical consultation and preventive inspection into one campus service. These are visiting contractual roles rather than regular university appointments, and the Vice Chancellor will appoint the selected professionals on a committee's recommendation. Each role follows a limited weekly visiting schedule, which can suit experienced professionals able to serve the residential university community alongside other work.
Posts and Disciplines
- Visiting Medical Consultant, Gynaecology and Obstetrics: specialist consultation for women's reproductive and maternal-health needs, backed by valid medical-council registration.
- Visiting Medical Consultant, Paediatrician: specialist support for child health and paediatric concerns within the university's visiting-care arrangement.
- Visiting Health Inspector: campus-wide checks covering food premises, hostels, water systems, sanitation, waste areas and vector-control arrangements.
Post-wise Duties
Visiting Medical Consultant, Gynaecology and Obstetrics
You will provide specialist gynaecology and obstetrics consultations during the scheduled campus visit and advise the university on cases within your clinical field. Your work should follow professional standards and the registration conditions of the appropriate medical council.
Visiting Medical Consultant, Paediatrician
You will provide paediatric consultations and clinical guidance during the allotted visit. The role supports the university's health arrangements with specialist input on child-health matters that need a paediatrician's assessment.
Visiting Health Inspector
You will conduct scheduled and surprise health audits across messes, canteens, kitchens, hostels, residential areas and academic spaces. You will check food handling, water and sanitation systems, supervise pest and vector controls, train food-service workers and report corrective actions to the administration.
Service Conditions and Caveats
- Visiting schedule: Each appointment involves one campus visit per week, with the visit lasting two hours.
- Contract tenure: Engagement starts for one year and may be extended or shortened according to need and satisfactory performance; continuation is assessed by the university.
- Maximum engagement: Yearly extensions cannot take the total service beyond the limit set in the advertisement.
- No regular appointment: The engagement creates no claim to absorption, seniority, promotion or regularisation at RGNAU.
- Benefits and travel: No additional allowances or travel expenses are payable, and tax is deducted at source under government instructions.
- Performance: RGNAU may end the contract where assigned work is not completed satisfactorily or integrity concerns arise; the competent authority may also terminate it without notice.
- Campus coverage: The Health Inspector works under the University Administration or nominated controlling officer and may be assigned related public-health and environmental-sanitation work.
- Attendance: Shortlisted candidates must attend the interview physically on the notified schedule, with no individual change of date or time.
