Indian Council of Forestry Research and Education (ICFRE) Accounts Officer Recruitment 2026 - 1 Post

The Indian Council of Forestry Research and Education (ICFRE) is an autonomous body under the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change, Government of India. Through Advertisement No. 06/Accounts Officer/2026-ICFRE, the council has invited applications from eligible government officers to fill one Accounts Officer post at ICFRE's Institute of Forest Genetics and Tree Breeding (IFGTB) in Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu. The post is on a deputation basis, including short-term contract, which means you must already be working in a Central Government, State Government, Public Sector Undertaking, Autonomous Body, or Statutory Organisation. This vacancy is not open to fresh graduates, private-sector employees, or first-time job seekers — only experienced government accounts personnel who meet the eligibility routes below can apply.

Who Can Apply?

You can apply for this post only if you meet one of these two eligibility routes:

Route 1 — from Pay Level-7 posts:

• You should currently be working as a Section Officer in Pay Level-7 of the 7th CPC Pay Matrix.
• You need 2 years of regular service in that grade.
• You need 2 years of experience in accounting work.
• You must hold a certificate from the Institute of Secretariat Training and Management (ISTM).

Route 2 — from Pay Level-6 posts:

• You should have 6 years of regular service in Pay Level-6 of the 7th CPC Pay Matrix.
• You need working knowledge of cash and accounts.
• You must hold a certificate from the Institute of Secretariat Training and Management (ISTM) confirming this knowledge.

ICFRE can relax the qualification and experience norms for exceptionally qualified and meritorious candidates, at its discretion.

Salary

• This post carries Pay Level 8 of the 7th CPC Pay Matrix (approximately Rs. 47,600 to Rs. 1,51,100 per month).
• You will also get the usual allowances (DA, HRA, TA) as admissible under ICFRE rules.
• The tenure of deputation is ordinarily 3 years or till superannuation, whichever comes first, though it can be extended or terminated earlier at the discretion of the appointing authority.

The Council also reserves the right not to fill this vacancy if circumstances so warrant.
