UPPCB Assistant Environmental Engineer & Scientific Officer Recruitment 2026

The Uttar Pradesh Pollution Control Board (UPPCB) is hiring 40 professionals to strengthen its environmental monitoring and pollution control capabilities across the state. With 26 Assistant Environmental Engineer and 14 Assistant Scientific Officer positions on offer, this is a solid opportunity for engineering graduates and science postgraduates who want to build a career in environmental protection.

Selection Process

Your journey to getting selected involves two stages. First, you will appear for a Computer Based Test (CBT) worth 400 marks consisting of 100 objective-type questions. For AEE, the paper covers Environmental Engineering at B.Tech level along with General Aptitude. For ASO, it tests Environmental Sciences at undergraduate level plus General Aptitude. Each correct answer fetches 4 marks while each wrong answer deducts 1 mark, so accuracy matters. Based on CBT performance, shortlisted candidates move to the Interview round carrying 70 marks.

Preparation Tips

1. Focus on your core subject -- it carries 70% of the CBT marks (280 out of 400), so make it your strongest area
2. Practice General Aptitude regularly -- the 30 questions on aptitude carry 120 marks and can make or break your ranking
3. Watch out for negative marking -- with 1 mark deducted per wrong answer, avoid random guessing and work on elimination techniques
4. Revise environmental laws and standards -- UPPCB deals with pollution control, so expect questions on Water Act, Air Act, and EPA

Documents You Will Need

• Monitor and assess environmental pollution levels across industrial and urban areas of Uttar Pradesh
• Conduct field inspections of industries and establishments for compliance with pollution control norms
