Odisha Staff Selection Commission (OSSC), Unit-II, Bhubaneswar has released Advertisement No. IIE-46/2025/5919/OSSC dated 30 December 2025 for the Combined Graduate Level Recruitment Examination for Group-B and Group-C Specialist Posts and Services 2025 (CGLRE Specialist-2025). The recruitment covers 199 vacancies across 16 posts, including Food Safety Officer, Librarian, Laboratory Assistant, Computer Programmer, Senior Economic Investigator and more. 52 seats are reserved for women candidates. General Eligibility (for all posts):
- You must be a citizen of India, of good character, sound health, and free from organic defects.
- You must be able to read, write and speak Odia fluently with proof of Odia studied in school (Middle School, Matriculation, or Class VII).
Post-wise Educational Qualification (Key Posts):
- Food Safety Officer: Bachelor's/Master's/Doctorate Degree in Food Technology, Dairy Technology, Bio Technology, Agricultural Science, Oil Technology, Veterinary Science, Bio-Chemistry, Microbiology OR MBBS/BDS/BHMS/BUMS/BSMS/BAMS/BSRMS. Computer knowledge required.
- Senior Economic Investigator: Bachelor's (Honours) or PG in Economics, Applied Economics, Commerce, Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, Business Administration or related subjects.
- Senior Cost Assistant: ICWAI (Inter) / ICMAI (Inter).
- Inspector of Legal Metrology / Laboratory Assistant (Legal Metrology): Graduate in Science (Physics), Technology, or Engineering OR Diploma in Engineering with 3 years experience.
- Computer Programmer: B.Tech / B.E. in Computer Science / Electronics & Telecommunication OR MCA.
- Graphic Designer / Scribe: Degree in Fine Art / Visual Art with PG Diploma in Multimedia / Animation / Visual Effect.
- Librarian (DIETs/BIETs / TE & SCERT): B.Lib / M.Lib / BLIS / MLIS with 50% marks.
- Statistical Assistant: Bachelor's in Arts/Science (Honours in Mathematics, Statistics, Physics, Economics, Applied Economics) or B.Com. Computer knowledge required.
- Junior Laboratory Assistant (Food Testing / Factories & Boilers): Bachelor's in Science with Chemistry as one subject (Honours for Factories & Boilers).
- Market Intelligence Inspector: Graduate in Humanities/Science/Commerce with 40% marks and at least one subject from Economics, Mathematics, Statistics, Commerce, or Accounting. MS Office knowledge required.
- Assistant Embankment Inspector / Laboratory Assistant (Water Resources): Bachelor of Science with basic computer skill certificate.
Age Limit
- You should be between 21 and 42 years old as on 01 January 2025.
- You must not have been born earlier than 2nd January 1983 or later than 1st January 2004 (general category).
- Age Relaxation: 5 years for SEBC, SC, ST and all Women candidates; 10 years for PwBD; total period of defence service for Ex-servicemen.
- PwBD candidates in SC/ST category get cumulative relaxation of 10 years over and above the normal relaxation.
Salary
- Group B posts (Level-9, Cell-1 of ORSP 2017): Approximately Rs. 35,400 - Rs. 1,12,400 per month
- Group C posts (Level-7 / Level-8): Approximately Rs. 25,500 - Rs. 81,100 per month
- Scribe post (Level-4): Approximately Rs. 19,900 - Rs. 63,200 per month
- Plus DA, HRA, TA and other allowances as per Odisha Government rules.

- The examination fee is refundable to candidates who actually appear in the first stage of the recruitment examination.
Selection Process
The selection will be conducted in three stages:
- Preliminary Examination (Stage I): CBRE/OMR mode, 150 questions for 150 marks in 2 hours 30 minutes. Objective MCQs with negative marking of 0.25 marks per wrong answer. Candidates equal to 5 times the vacancies (post-wise and category-wise) will be shortlisted for Main Examination.
- Main Written Examination (Stage II): One Technical paper in CBRE/OMR mode, 100 questions for 200 marks in 2 hours 30 minutes. Objective MCQs with negative marking of 0.5 marks per wrong answer.
- Computer Skill Test: Required for all posts except Inspector/Laboratory Assistant (Legal Metrology), Junior Laboratory Assistant (Factories & Boilers) and Junior Laboratory Assistant (Food Safety). Qualifying marks: 50% of total marks.
- Certificate Verification (Stage III): Candidates equal to 1.5 times the vacancies will be called based on Main Examination marks.
Preliminary and Main Exam (Paper I) will be conducted in both Odia and English. Once chosen, the language option cannot be changed.

Responsibilities
- Carry out duties specific to the allotted post — Food Safety inspections, library cataloguing, laboratory testing, statistical analysis or other specialist work
- Maintain records, registers and reports as per departmental rules
- Prepare technical reports, samples and findings for senior officers
- Follow the standard operating procedures of the assigned Department/HoD
- Assist higher authorities in field inspections, surveys, and routine government work
- Use computer applications (MS Office, departmental software) for daily reporting
- Attend training programmes and update knowledge as per departmental requirements
