Karnataka Examinations Authority (KEA), under the Government of Karnataka, has released the revised notification for recruitment of Group-A and Group-B posts on 20 May 2026. The Assistant Engineer recruitment covers 7 vacancies across three engineering disciplines — Civil, Mechanical, and Computer Science — in BWSSB and KSSIDC. Selection is based on a written examination followed by document verification. Karnataka domicile candidates can apply.

Who Can Apply?

• Qualification: Relevant Engineering Degree (B.E. / B.Tech) from a recognised university in the discipline applied for (Civil / Mechanical / Computer Science).
• Computer Literacy: Minimum 6-month computer literacy course from a recognised institution.
• Domicile: Karnataka domicile candidates (as per Karnataka government rules for state recruitment).
• Language: Knowledge of Kannada is essential — candidates must qualify the Kannada language test.

Age Limit

• Minimum age: 18 years
• Maximum age: 40 years (General candidates)
• Age Relaxation:
• OBC (2A, 2B, 3A, 3B): up to 43 years
• SC/ST/Category-1: up to 45 years

Salary

• Pay Scale: Rs. 53,250 - Rs. 1,15,460 per month (Group-B, Karnataka Government pay scale as per 01.07.2018 revision)
• You will also get DA, HRA and other allowances as per Karnataka Government rules.

Selection Process

The selection will be done in the following stages:

1. Qualifying Kannada Language Test: All candidates must qualify this test first.
2. Competitive Written Exam: One or two papers depending on the post — General Knowledge, Reasoning, and subject-specific (Civil / Mechanical / Computer Science) papers. Each paper is for 2 hours. Negative marking of 0.25 marks per wrong answer. Minimum aggregate of 35% required in competitive papers for merit consideration.
3. Document Verification: Candidates shortlisted based on written exam performance will produce all original certificates.
