Kodagu District Court Peon Recruitment 2026: Overview

Principal District and Sessions Court, Kodagu is recruiting Peon and Attender staff for the district judicial unit at Madikeri and its subordinate courts. This is a direct recruitment drive under the Karnataka subordinate courts service rules, giving you a regular court-support role within the district. The work supports the everyday movement of files, notices and people through court offices, so reliability, respectful conduct and the ability to work in Kannada are central to the appointment.

The notification treats Peon and Attender as the same support cadre rather than separate specialist posts. Your exact seat or court establishment may depend on the administrative needs of the Kodagu district judiciary. This is district-unit recruitment, not an all-India transferable appointment.

Service Conditions and Caveats

  • Kannada ability: You must be able to read and write Kannada because routine court and office work uses the state language.
  • Reservation: The roster includes vertical and horizontal reservations for women, rural candidates, persons with disabilities, former service personnel, project-displaced persons and transgender candidates. You should claim a benefit only when you hold the prescribed, valid certificate.
  • Disability reservation: The identified disability position is for the locomotor-disability group described in the notice. If no suitable person is available, that reserved position is carried to a later recruitment.
  • Special SC allocation: One Scheduled Caste category allocation first applies to the group of especially backward communities named under Karnataka rules; the notice explains the fallback within the same category if no suitable person is found.
  • Probation: Appointment begins with a two-year probation period under the Karnataka Service Rules.
  • Pension: New appointees come under the New Pension Scheme applicable to Karnataka government service.
  • Official communication: Shortlisting and interview information may be sent by mobile message or e-mail and displayed on the court website. You remain responsible for checking updates even if a message does not reach you.
  • Travel: You must attend the interview at your own cost; the court does not promise travel reimbursement.
  • Legal caveat: The recruitment order remains subject to the final outcome of the Karnataka High Court writ petitions cited in the notification.

Application Submission Notes

The court accepts one online application per person. If you send more than one, only the most recently submitted form is considered, and details cannot be edited after final submission.

Use an active mobile number and e-mail address while applying. Keep the downloaded application and payment record with you until the recruitment ends, because the court may ask for them during the interview or verification. Uploads must be clear and match the format limits shown in the portal; unclear or incomplete information can lead to rejection.

Responsibilities

  • Carry case files, registers and official papers between court sections
  • Deliver internal notices and correspondence to the assigned offices
  • Arrange courtrooms and office spaces before daily proceedings
  • Guide visitors to the correct counter or courtroom when asked
  • Support record-room and dispatch staff with routine file movement
  • Follow confidentiality, discipline and security rules inside the court complex
