AIIMS Gorakhpur is hiring 27 Senior Residents across 11 departments under the Govt. of India Residency Scheme. If you have a Post Graduate Medical Degree (MD/MS/DNB) from an NMC-recognised institute, you can attend the walk-in interview on 30 May 2026. The starting salary is Rs. 67,700 per month (Level-11, 7th CPC) plus usual allowances including NPA. Upper age limit is 45 years on the date of interview.

AIIMS Gorakhpur (Advertisement No: AIIMS/GKP/RECT/SR/2026-27/37) has notified 27 Senior Resident vacancies in 11 clinical departments. The appointment is initially for 1 year and may be extended up to 3 years based on performance (CMFM post is on an 11-month tenure basis). 5 seats are horizontally reserved for PwBD candidates. The selection is through a walk-in interview at the AIIMS Gorakhpur campus.

For the Trauma & Emergency department, candidates having MD/MS/DNB in Anaesthesia, Emergency Medicine, General Medicine, General Surgery, or Orthopedics will also be considered.

Who Can Apply?

• Qualification: You must have a Post Graduate Medical Degree (MD/MS/DNB) in the respective discipline from an NMC-recognised University or Institute.
• Medical Council Registration: NMC/MCI/State Medical Council Registration is mandatory before joining if selected.
• Past Residency: You should not have completed 3 years of Senior Residency under the Residency Scheme in any Government medical institution (regular, ad-hoc, or contract).
• NOC: If you are working in a Central/State Government/Semi-Government/Autonomous Institution, you must submit a No Objection Certificate (NOC) at the time of interview.
• Eligibility on Date of Interview: Only candidates who have already passed their qualifying degree exam and will complete their tenure before the interview date are eligible.

Age Limit

• Upper age limit: 45 years as on the date of interview (30 May 2026).
• Age Relaxation: SC/ST candidates get 5 years relaxation. OBC candidates get 3 years relaxation (only when applying for posts reserved for their category).
• PwBD Relaxation: Up to 10 years (General), 13 years (OBC), 15 years (SC/ST).

Salary

• Basic Pay: Rs. 67,700 per month (Level-11, Cell No. 01) as per 7th CPC.
• Plus usual allowances including NPA (Non-Practising Allowance) if applicable.
• You will also get DA, HRA and other allowances as per Central Government rules.

Selection Process

Selection will be done through a walk-in interview at AIIMS Gorakhpur:

1. Walk-in Interview: Conducted on 30 May 2026 by a Search-cum-Selection Committee.
2. Written Test (if applicable): If a large number of applications are received, candidates will be shortlisted for interview based on a written test.
3. Document Verification: Bring all original certificates (degrees, mark sheets, age proof, caste certificate, NMC/MCI registration, payment receipt) for verification on the day of interview.
4. Medical Fitness: The appointment is subject to being declared medically fit by the competent Medical Board.

The decision of the Executive Director, AIIMS Gorakhpur is final and binding.

2. Pay the application fee through NEFT to the AIIMS Gorakhpur Recruitment Cell SBI account.
3. Fill in the application form and bio-data with the NEFT transaction reference number and date.
4. Affix a recent passport-size photograph (self-attested) on the form.
5. Attend the walk-in interview at Administrative Block, AIIMS Campus, Kunraghat, Gorakhpur, UP-273008 on 30 May 2026 between 09:30 AM and 11:30 AM.
6. Carry the filled application form, bio-data, all original certificates, self-attested photocopies, and the payment receipt to the interview.

• Participate in academic activities including case discussions, seminars, and journal clubs
• Assist consultants in surgeries, procedures, and outpatient clinics
• Work on a whole-time basis without engaging in private practice during the contract period
