Punjab & Sind Bank is hiring 635 Apprentices across 29 states and union territories of India. If you are a graduate in any discipline and are between 20 and 28 years old, you can apply. Punjab & Sind Bank Apprentice Recruitment 2026 - 635 Posts
Punjab & Sind Bank (PSB), a Government of India undertaking, has released notification for 635 Apprentice posts under the Apprentices Act, 1961. The vacancies are spread across 29 states and union territories, with the largest shares in Uttar Pradesh (100), Punjab (90), Haryana (50), Bihar (40), and Delhi, Maharashtra and Rajasthan (30 each). There is no written exam — selection is based on your 10+2 (HSC) marks. Graduates who have not completed five years after passing their qualifying exam and are proficient in the local language can apply.

You can apply for only one state and one district. The state-wise category breakdown (SC/ST/OBC/EWS/UR) is given in the official notification.
Who Can Apply?
- Qualification: You must hold a regular graduation in any discipline from a recognised University/Institute (cut-off date for qualification is 6 June 2026).
- Local Language: You must be proficient in reading, writing, speaking and understanding the local language of the state/UT you are applying for. You will need to produce a 8th/10th/12th or graduate-level mark sheet showing you studied that language.
- Post Graduate candidates are NOT eligible for apprenticeship training.
- You should NOT have completed 5 years after passing the qualifying examination.
- You should NOT have 1 year or more of work experience.
- Nationality: You must be a citizen of India (or a subject of Nepal/Bhutan or a Tibetan refugee with required eligibility certificate).
Age Limit
- Minimum age: 20 years
- Maximum age: 28 years (as on 1 May 2026)
- Age Relaxation:
- SC/ST: 5 years
- OBC (Non-creamy layer): 3 years
- Persons with Benchmark Disabilities (PwBD): 10 years
- Widows, divorced and legally separated women: up to 35 years (General/EWS), 38 years (OBC), 40 years (SC/ST)
- Persons affected by 1984 riots: 5 years
Stipend
- You will get a monthly stipend of Rs. 12,300 during the training period.
- No daily allowance, conveyance allowance or travelling allowance is payable. No overtime is permitted.
- You will be entitled to one casual leave per month and to bank holidays.
Application Fee (Non-Refundable)
- General / EWS / OBC: Rs. 200 + applicable taxes + payment gateway charges
- SC / ST / PwD: Rs. 100 + applicable taxes + payment gateway charges
- Payment mode: Online only (no cash, cheques, or money orders)
- Fees once paid will not be refunded.
Selection Process (No Written Exam)
Selection is based on merit. There is no written exam or interview.
- Merit List Preparation: Candidates who meet the eligibility criteria will be ranked by 10+2 (HSC) marks in descending order, separately for each category, state and district.
- Tie-Breaker: If two candidates have the same 10+2 marks, the older candidate gets preference.
- Document Verification: Selected candidates must produce original certificates of educational qualification, age, caste, and other documents at verification.
- Medical Fitness: Final engagement is subject to you being declared medically fit by the Bank.
How to Apply
- Register on the apprenticeship portal at apprenticeshipindia.gov.in AND nats.education.gov.in. Profile must be 100% complete.
- Go to the Punjab & Sind Bank website at punjabandsind.bank.in and click the Recruitment link.
- Fill in the online application form with your details, selected state and district.
- Upload your photograph, signature, thumb impression, hand-written declaration and live photograph.
- Pay the application fee online.
- Submit the application and take a printout for your records.
You can apply for only one state and one district. Only the last valid application will be retained if you submit multiple ones.

Responsibilities
- Learn banking operations at the assigned branch and follow your training plan diligently
- Attend practical and instructional classes regularly as per the apprenticeship schedule
- Assist branch staff with customer service, account opening and routine banking tasks
- Help in marketing and promotional activities of bank products and schemes
- Maintain confidentiality of customer data, financial information and internal communications
- Follow the rules, regulations and code of conduct prescribed by Punjab & Sind Bank
- Maintain records of work and submit them as required by the supervising officer
Eligibility Criteria
Minimum Qualification
Graduate in any discipline from a recognised University/Institute. Proficiency in local language of applied state/UT required.
