CSB Deputation Multi-Post Recruitment 2026: Overview

Central Silk Board (CSB), a statutory body under the Ministry of Textiles, is filling eight kinds of Group-A and Group-B posts on deputation — from Joint Secretary (Technical) down to Assistant Engineer. This is not a fresh-recruitment drive: only officers already serving in Central or State Government departments, or in statutory and autonomous bodies, can apply, and only through their own department.

The posts cover administration and accounts, finance, statistics, official language, technical programme work and civil engineering, spread across CSB's head office in Bengaluru and its institutes and units. Deputation runs for three years at first and can be extended under DoPT rules.

Posts and Disciplines

Officers who hold an analogous post qualify directly; others need the required years of regular service in the feeder pay level named in the notice.

Post-wise Duties

Joint Secretary (Technical)

You will shape and monitor Central and centrally sponsored sericulture schemes, work with State Sericulture Departments, visit silk-growing areas, handle Parliament questions and Board meeting papers, and act as CSB's liaison with the Ministry of Textiles.

Deputy and Assistant Director (Admn. & Accts.)

You will run establishment and accounts work: recruitment and promotions, MACP, reservation rosters, APARs, disciplinary and legal cases, budget, annual accounts, pensions, GPF, tax deduction and audit follow-up with the AG.

Deputy Director (Finance)

You will handle the budget, annual accounts, computerised accounting, letters of credit and foreign exchange, salary and pension finalisation, and audits of all CSB units.

Deputy and Assistant Director (Statistics)

You will collect and analyse sericulture, export and import data, maintain the MIS, publish monthly and annual trade reviews, track market prices and prepare state-wise sericulture profiles.

Deputy Director (Official Language)

You will lead the Official Language Policy across CSB offices and institutes — inspections, translation vetting, Hindi journals, workshops and seminars.

Assistant Engineer

You will look after civil, electrical and mechanical works, cold storages, buildings, mulberry plots, roads, water supply and drainage, and prepare estimates for repairs and new works.

Service Conditions and Caveats

• Proper channel only: Applications that do not come through your controlling authority, or arrive late or incomplete, will not be considered.
• Tenure: Deputation is for three years, extendable for administrative needs with the competent authority's approval.
• Pay and terms: Deputation pay and other terms follow DoPT instructions in force.
• No withdrawal: You cannot withdraw your name after you are selected.
• Shortlisting: Meeting the minimum qualification does not guarantee an interview, so list all extra qualifications and experience with proof.
• Personal discussion: Shortlisted officers may be called to CSB headquarters, Bengaluru; no TA/DA is paid.
• False documents: If documents turn out to be false at any stage, you may be sent back to your parent department.

Application Submission Notes

Fill in the prescribed application form attached to the advertisement, add a detailed CV describing your past assignments, and hand it to your controlling authority. Your office forwards it to The Member Secretary, Central Silk Board, CSB Complex, B.T.M. Layout, Madiwala, Hosur Road, Bengaluru – 560068.

Apply separately for each post you want. Your office also fills Part-II of the form and attaches cadre clearance, APARs, integrity and vigilance certificates, and a 10-year penalty statement.

Corrigenda and Notices

• Extension notice dated 13 October 2026: CSB extended the last date for receiving applications under Advt. No. CSB/01/2026 by another 30 days. The original advertisement appeared in the Employment News of 12–18 September 2026.
