KMRL Apprentice Recruitment 2026: Overview

Kochi Metro Rail Limited (KMRL), the company that runs the Kochi Metro in Kerala, is taking on apprentices for its 2026-27 training batch. This is an apprenticeship, not a regular job — you train for one year inside a working metro system and pick up real on-the-job experience in your trade or branch.

The drive is open to ITI, diploma and graduate candidates, and no prior work experience is needed, so it suits recent pass-outs who want their first industry exposure with a well-known public transport operator.

• ITI Trade Apprentice: Electrician, Fitter, Plumber, Machinist, Electronics and other trades.
• Diploma (Technician) Apprentice: Computer Science, Electrical and Electronics, Electronics and Communication, Mechanical and other branches.
• Graduate Apprentice (Technical): engineering graduates in Computer Science, Electrical and Electronics, Electronics and Communication, Mechanical and other branches.
• Graduate Apprentice (Non-Technical): BBA, B.Com and BCA graduates, plus other degrees.

Service Conditions and Caveats

• Tenure: The apprenticeship lasts one year.
• Portal enrolment: The bio-data form asks for your NAPS or NATS enrolment ID, so register on the government apprenticeship portal for your group before you fill it in.
• Reservation: Age relaxation applies as per reservation rules.
• Family in KMRL: The form asks whether your father or mother works in KMRL, so keep their name and employee ID ready if they do.
