SCI Court Assistant (Technical Assistant-cum-Programmer) Recruitment 2026: Overview

The Supreme Court of India (SCI) is building a direct-recruitment panel for Court Assistant (Technical Assistant-cum-Programmer) posts in its Registry in New Delhi. These are Group B non-gazetted technical posts, and the vacancy count is tentative — the Registry can raise or lower it to suit its needs.

This is one of the few Supreme Court openings aimed squarely at software professionals. You need a computer science or IT degree plus hands-on software development experience, and a law degree counts as an extra advantage. If you are a working developer who wants a stable government job inside the country's top court, this drive is worth a close look.

Service Conditions and Caveats

  • Provisional at every stage: Your entry into each test and the interview is provisional. If your documents later show you do not meet a condition, your candidature can be cancelled without notice.
  • Reservation: Reservation follows Rule 4A of the Supreme Court Officers and Servants (Conditions of Service and Conduct) Rules, 1961. You cannot change the category you enter in the form later.
  • Government employees: Staff of other government departments, PSUs or nationalised banks get no age relaxation for that reason, and must produce a No Objection Certificate from their employer at document verification.
  • False information: Impersonation, fake documents or hiding facts can lead to removal, prosecution and a ban from future Registry jobs — even after probation or confirmation.
  • Changes to the drive: The Registry can cancel, restrict, enlarge or modify the selection process without notice.
  • Test centres: You pick test cities in order of preference, but you can be shifted to another city. Requests to change the centre or test dates are not accepted.
  • No travel allowance: No TA/DA is paid for attending the tests or the interview.
  • New employment: If you get a job during or after the process, tell the Recruitment Cell at recruitment.cell@sci.nic.in right away.
  • Scribe facility: Persons with disabilities can use a scribe by filling Appendix-I or Appendix-II; an own scribe cannot be a candidate in the same exam or help more than one candidate.
  • Jurisdiction: Any dispute falls under the courts in Delhi.

Application Submission Notes

The online application link will appear on the Supreme Court website, sci.gov.in, when registration opens. Postal forms are not accepted. If you submit more than one form, only the last one counts.

Your name, parents' names and date of birth must match your Class 10 certificate. Save a printout of the form and your application number for the admit card — you do not need to post the printout to the Registry.
