CUSAT Technician Grade II Recruitment 2026: Overview

Cochin University of Science and Technology (CUSAT) in Kochi is hiring a Technician Grade II for its Department of Polymer Science and Rubber Technology. This is a contract post, not a permanent university job, and it is meant for someone with an electrical or electronics ITI background who has already worked in a technical role at an engineering college or university.

The job follows the academic calendar rather than the full year. You work from July to April and are off during the May–June vacation months, so plan for a two-month gap in each cycle. Service Conditions and Caveats

• Tenure: The first appointment is for one year, and the university may extend it to two years.
• Working months: Engagement runs from July to April, with breaks in May and June of each year.
• Shortlisting: CUSAT can shortlist applicants on the basis of the marks they scored in their qualifying course, so your ITI marks matter.

• Service rules: Pay and service conditions follow the Kerala Service Rules (KSR), KS&SSR and CUSAT's own Act, Statutes, Ordinances and Syndicate decisions, as amended from time to time.

Applying online on the CUSAT recruitment portal (recruit.cusat.ac.in) is only the first step. You also have to post a signed printout of the online application, with copies of documents that prove your age and qualification, to The Registrar, Administrative Office, Cochin University of Science and Technology, Kochi-22.

The hard copy must reach the university by 23 November 2026. Write "Application for the post of Technician Grade II, Department of Polymer Science & Rubber Technology on contract basis" on the envelope. Late or incomplete applications are rejected without further notice.
