DAVV Visiting Faculty Recruitment 2026: Overview

Devi Ahilya Vishwavidyalaya (DAVV), Indore, an A+ grade NAAC-accredited university in Madhya Pradesh, is looking for Visiting Faculty at its School of Mathematics and Statistics. The engagement covers one teaching session only — January to May 2027 — and you will teach Mathematics and Statistics papers to both graduate and postgraduate students. This is a paid-per-hour visiting role, not a regular faculty post, so it suits PhD holders, NET/SET-qualified candidates and research scholars who want university teaching experience.

The department wants people who can commit to the complete semester. If you can teach only a few weeks or only selected topics, this is not the right fit.

Posts and Disciplines

• Mathematics: graduate and postgraduate papers, including theory classes and practical sessions where the course has them.
• Statistics: graduate and postgraduate papers in Statistics and Applied Statistics, again with both theory and practical work.

The application form asks which subjects you have taught and which you prefer to teach, so list your strongest papers clearly.

Service Conditions and Caveats

• Session-bound engagement: The role runs for the January-May 2027 session only. It gives no claim to a permanent teaching post.
• Pay depends on your qualification: The university pays an hourly honorarium in three slabs, decided by your qualification and university norms. Apply only if you accept payment under the university's rules.
• No ATKT record: You must not have had any ATKT (supplementary) from graduation onwards. If you did, the form asks you to state it clearly.
• Relaxation for computer skills: The selection committee can relax the qualification conditions for candidates with skills in C++, Python, LaTeX or other numerical tools.
• PhD scholars: If you are still pursuing a PhD, attach a No Objection Certificate from your supervisor allowing you to work as visiting faculty.
• Extra duties: You must be ready to take theory and practical classes as well as invigilation duty.
• Publications: Papers in peer-reviewed journals or conferences are desirable but not compulsory. Publications listed without reprints will not be counted.
• Interview rules: The interview is in person only. No online interview and no change of interview date will be allowed, and no TA/DA is paid.
• Shortlisting: The department may shortlist applicants and will inform shortlisted candidates individually. Its decision is final.
