About This Job

Apply for 4 SRA and JPF posts in NCERT. Master's degree eligible. Salary: Rs 35,000-42,000. Walk-in: 15 Sep 2026 at ncert.nic.in.

NCERT SRA and JPF Recruitment 2026: Overview

National Council of Educational Research and Training (NCERT) is engaging Senior Research Associates and Junior Project Fellows in its Department of Education in Social Sciences at New Delhi. The team will work on a PAC-approved programme that develops syllabi and textbooks for Physical Education and Well-being at the secondary stage. These are project appointments, so the work suits candidates who want hands-on experience in curriculum research, school education content and academic reporting.

The project covers Grades 9-10 and 11-12, bringing together physical education, yoga, sports, languages, science and social science perspectives. You should be comfortable working across subject boundaries because the output is meant for school-level teaching and learning, not a narrow university research topic.

Posts and Disciplines

  • Senior Research Associate: the more experienced role, focused on research planning, content development, review and coordination within the project team.
  • Junior Project Fellow: an early-career research role supporting source review, data organisation, drafting and preparation of project material.

Post-wise Duties

Senior Research Associate

You will help shape research tasks, review academic sources, coordinate inputs and prepare clear curriculum and textbook material. The role also involves data processing, report writing and using your previous research, teaching or content-development experience to strengthen the team's work.

Junior Project Fellow

You will support the team with literature searches, data handling, draft preparation and day-to-day documentation for the programme. You may also help organise meetings, record feedback and revise learning material under the guidance of senior staff.

Service Conditions and Caveats

  • Project tenure: the engagement is purely temporary and runs only up to the project period or the stated project closing point, whichever comes first; it does not create a claim to a regular NCERT post.
  • Immediate joining: selected candidates are expected to join without delay.
  • Experience proof: if experience is an essential condition for your post, bring an attested salary slip, bank statement or income-tax return when the notice's prior-pay threshold applies to you.
  • Research-degree period: time spent pursuing an MPhil or PhD does not count as teaching or research experience for this engagement.
  • Current employment: applicants working elsewhere should route the form through their employer or bring a No Objection Certificate to the interview.
  • Travel: NCERT will not pay TA or DA for attending the walk-in interview.

Application Submission Notes

This is a walk-in interview at the Conference Room, third floor, DESS, Janaki Ammal Khand, NCERT, Sri Aurobindo Marg, New Delhi 110016. Registration is open from 9:30 AM to 11:00 AM on 15 September 2026, and the interview begins at 11:00 AM; arrivals after registration closes are not entertained.

Fill the application form attached to the notice and bring it with your original records and supporting copies. Choose the SRA or JPF role clearly and carry the extra experience or employer proof that applies to your situation.

  • Support the development of syllabi and textbooks for secondary classes
