About This Job

PFI Advisor HR and Liaison Recruitment 2026: Overview
Power Foundation of India (PFI) is a policy and research body set up under the aegis of the Ministry of Power and promoted by the country's leading power-sector CPSEs. It now wants one senior HR professional as its Advisor (HR & Liaison) at its office in New Delhi. This is a consultancy engagement meant for a retired top-level HR executive from the power sector, not a regular job for fresh or mid-career applicants.
The role has two sides. On the HR side, you would guide the Director General and PFI management on people policy, pay structure, recruitment and organisational development as the young organisation grows. On the liaison side, you would be PFI's link with CPSEs, Central and State Government departments and PFI member organisations, handling meetings, follow-ups and official communication. PFI says it prefers people who retired from organisations such as NHPC, SJVN, THDC India, NEEPCO, NTPC and POWERGRID, or similar bodies.
Service Conditions and Caveats
- Nature of engagement: You are engaged as a consultant on a monthly basis under PFI's rules for Advisors, Experts and Consultants. The engagement is purely contractual and gives no right to a regular job in PFI.
- Tenure: The first term is two years. PFI may extend it by one more year depending on its needs and your performance.
- Consultancy fee: PFI fixes the monthly fee under its own policy for retired advisors, looking at your last pay drawn, the level of responsibility and the nature of the work.
- Travel: You are based in New Delhi but must travel within India for PFI assignments; travel claims follow PFI's rules for engaged Advisors.
- Reporting: You report to the Executive Director or another officer the Director General names.
- Confidentiality and conflict of interest: You must keep all PFI information confidential and sign a declaration that you have no conflict of interest.
- Termination: PFI can end the engagement by giving one month's notice or one month's payment instead.
Application Submission Notes
PFI takes applications only in its prescribed format. The online form is linked against the Advisor – HR & Liaison row in the Careers section of powerfoundation.org.in, and the window shuts at 6:00 PM on the closing day. Incomplete forms, or forms from candidates who do not have the required qualification and experience, are rejected without further notice.
Corrigenda and Notices
- Updates: PFI will post any corrigendum or amendment to this notice only in the Careers section of its website, so check it before you apply.
Responsibilities
- Advise PFI management on drafting, reviewing and rolling out HR policies, rules and procedures
- Review pay structure, grade fitment, service conditions and benefits, and suggest improvements
- Guide manpower planning, organisation structure, recruitment, career progression and succession planning
- Advise on employee relations, performance management, grievances and disciplinary matters
- Prepare and review recruitment policies and terms for regular, contractual and consultant staff
- Check that HR practices follow statutory provisions, government guidelines and CPSE practice
- Coordinate with Central and State Government departments and PFI member organisations for meetings and official engagements
