CRCS Consultant Recruitment 2026: Overview

The Office of the Central Registrar of Cooperative Societies (CRCS), which works under the Ministry of Cooperation, wants to engage a Consultant at its office in the World Trade Centre, Nauroji Nagar, New Delhi. This is a contract engagement meant only for retired Central Government employees, and officers who are about to retire from the post of Assistant Section Officer or above in the CSS or non-CSS cadre can also apply.

The office needs someone who already knows how a central ministry runs. You will help with court cases, VIP references, finance and establishment work, and with the routine file work of the office. If you have spent years on noting and drafting in e-Office, handling RTI replies or preparing Parliament material, this role puts that experience to use after retirement.

The engagement follows the Department of Expenditure Office Memorandum No. 3-25/2020-E.IIA dated 09.12.2020, which sets the rules for hiring retired officials as consultants. A graduation degree in any subject is listed as desirable, not mandatory.

Service Conditions and Caveats

  • Tenure: The contract starts for one year and may be extended after a review, at the sole discretion of the office or ministry.
  • Not re-employment: The engagement is purely contractual and will not be treated as re-employment in government service.
  • Fixed pay: Your monthly amount stays the same for the whole contract — no annual increment or percentage increase.
  • No extra benefits: You will not get DA, transport, housing, personal staff, CGHS or medical reimbursement, and there is no PF, pension, insurance or gratuity under this contract.
  • Leave: You earn 1.5 days of leave per completed month. Unused leave does not carry beyond the calendar year, is not paid out, and you cannot take more than three days in one stretch.
  • Full-time only: You cannot take up any other assignment in a public or private organisation during the contract.
  • Residence: Candidates living in Delhi NCR are preferred.
  • Exit terms: The office can end the engagement at any time without notice. You can resign by giving 15 days' notice or paying the consultancy fee for that period.
  • Confidentiality: You must not share any confidential information or data of the office with outsiders, and you must avoid any conflict of interest.
  • Travel: No TA/DA is paid for attending the interview or for joining.

You can send it by email to gaurav.bisht@gov.in, by post or dak, or hand it in at the office in person. The form also asks you to sign a declaration that you accept the general terms in Annexure-I.
