MVH Delhi Junior Resident Recruitment 2026: Overview

Maharishi Valmiki Hospital (MVH), run by the Government of NCT of Delhi at Pooth Khurd, is holding a walk-in interview for Junior Residents (MBBS) on a purely ad hoc basis. The engagement is for 89 days or until a regular Junior Resident joins, whichever is earlier. Both posts are reserved for OBC candidates, and the hospital notes that the number of vacancies may change. If you recently finished your MBBS internship and are registered with the Delhi Medical Council, this is a quick way to start residency in a Delhi government hospital.

Service Conditions and Caveats

• Fresh JRs first: You must not have already completed one year of Junior Residency in any government hospital in India.
• Internship window: Your one-year internship must have been completed not more than 2 years before the interview date.
• OBC and EWS certificates: OBC (non-creamy layer) applicants must belong to Delhi, and OBC/EWS certificates must be issued by the competent authority of GNCT of Delhi.
• Hostel: Hostel accommodation is compulsory for Junior Residents.
• Unfilled reserved seats: If no suitable reserved-category candidate turns up, the seats can go to general or other-category candidates on an ad hoc basis.
• Relaxed list: If fresh candidates are not available, the hospital may consider older candidates (up to 40 years), postgraduate doctors and those who already did one year of JR, but only after the fresh-candidate list is used up, and with no extension beyond one year.
• Early termination: Ad hoc JRs can be relieved when regular JRs or Medical Officers join through GNCT of Delhi, even before 89 days.
• No TA/DA is paid for attending the interview.

No candidate is entertained after 11:30 AM, and the interview itself starts after 11:00 AM. Bring the application form attached to the notice already filled in capital letters — no forms are given out at the venue — and arrange your documents in the order of the checklist annexed to it.
