SCTIMST Project Assistant Recruitment 2026: Overview

Sree Chitra Tirunal Institute for Medical Sciences and Technology (SCTIMST), an Institution of National Importance under the Department of Science and Technology, is hiring a Project Assistant at its Biomedical Technology (BMT) Wing in Poojappura, Thiruvananthapuram. The post belongs to a DST-funded project (P.8261) that is developing and testing a batch production system for microneedle array patches used for transdermal drug delivery, that is, giving medicine through the skin.

Your work will centre on making and characterising polymeric microneedles in the lab. Selection is through a walk-in interview, so there is no online form to fill. If you have a B.Sc in Chemistry or Physics and want hands-on experience in medical device research at one of India's best-known biomedical institutes, this is a good place to start.

Service Conditions and Caveats

• Project tenure: The engagement is initially up to 31 March 2027 and is likely to be extended up to 11 May 2027. It is tied to the project, not a regular post.
• EWS post: The vacancy is earmarked for EWS candidates. If no eligible EWS candidate turns up, UR candidates will be considered.
• EWS proof: EWS candidates need a valid Income and Asset Certificate in the central government format, issued by a Revenue Officer not below the rank of Tahsildar.
• Experience rule: Any experience you claim counts only if it was gained after you got the essential qualification.
• Working candidates: If you are already employed, bring a No Objection Certificate from your current employer to the interview.
• No travel allowance: SCTIMST will not pay TA/DA for attending the interview.

There is no online application. Walk in at the Biomedical Technology Wing, Satelmond Palace, Poojappura, Thiruvananthapuram 695012 on the interview day. Reporting time is 9:30 AM, and anyone reporting after 9:30 AM will not be considered.

Carry the filled Recruitment Report Form, your bio-data, and your original certificates along with self-attested copies. If a large crowd turns up, a short qualifying written test may be held first to shortlist people for the interview.
