The National Council of Educational Research and Training (NCERT) is hiring 1 Senior Research Associate (SRA) and 4 Junior Project Fellows (JPFs) on a contract basis in its Department of Curriculum Studies & Development, New Delhi. If you have a Post Graduate degree in Mathematics, Science, Social Science, Language or Education, you can attend the walk-in interview on 15 July 2026. The salary ranges from Rs. 35,000 to Rs. 42,000 per month depending on the post and your qualification.
NCERT SRA and JPF Recruitment 2026 - 5 Posts
The Department of Curriculum Studies & Development (DCS&D) of NCERT has released advertisement number 1-13/2026-27 dated 3 July 2026 to engage one Senior Research Associate and four Junior Project Fellows purely on contractual basis under three PAC-approved programmes for the year 2026-27. There is no application fee and no online form - all posts are filled through a single walk-in interview on 15 July 2026. Who Can Apply?
For Senior Research Associate (SRA) - Rs. 40,000 to 42,000/month:
- Qualification: Post Graduation in Mathematics / Science / Social Science / Language / Education with minimum 55% marks (50% for SC/ST/PH).
- Experience: Two years' experience in the relevant field. You must submit an attested copy of your salary slip / bank statement / ITR at the time of interview.
- Desirable: B.Ed/M.Ed, basic computer knowledge, MS Office, proficiency in data analysis software, good communication skills and field work experience.
For Junior Project Fellow (JPF) - Rs. 35,000 to 37,000/month:
- Qualification: Post Graduation in Mathematics / Science / Social Science / Language / Education with minimum 55% marks (50% for SC/ST/PH).
- Desirable: B.Ed/M.Ed, basic computer knowledge, MS Office, field work experience and good communication skills. For the Hindi translation project (7.04), experience in translating material from English to Hindi and vice-versa is preferred.
Your experience in Research / Teaching / Training / Extension / Content Development should be related to School Education. Time spent pursuing M.Phil or Ph.D does not count as teaching or research experience.
Age Limit
- Senior Research Associate (SRA): Below 45 years.
- Junior Project Fellow (JPF): Below 40 years.
- Age Relaxation: As per Government of India norms.
Salary
- Senior Research Associate (SRA): Rs. 42,000 per month for NET/Ph.D holders, Rs. 40,000 per month for Non-NET.
- Junior Project Fellow (JPF): Rs. 37,000 per month for NET/Ph.D holders, Rs. 35,000 per month for Non-NET.
- The tenure is up to 31 March 2027 for the 7.01 and 7.03 programmes, and six months from the date of joining for the 7.04 (Hindi translation) programme.
Selection Process
Selection is done through a single walk-in interview:
- Walk-in Interview: Held on 15 July 2026 in the Department of Curriculum Studies & Development, Room No. 210, Second Floor, CIET Building, NCERT, New Delhi.
- Registration and Document Verification: Report between 9:30 AM and 12:30 PM on the interview day. No candidate is entertained after 12:30 PM. Carry your filled application, self-attested testimonials and all original certificates.
No TA/DA is paid for attending the interview. Candidates already in a job must bring a No Objection Certificate (NOC). Selected candidates are expected to join immediately.
