National Council of Educational Research and Training (NCERT) is hiring 5 project staff posts in the Department of Education in Arts and Aesthetics, New Delhi. The notice covers 4 Senior Research Associate (SRA) posts and 1 Junior Project Fellow (JPF) post for PAC projects approved for 2026-27. If you have a relevant postgraduate degree in Performing Arts, Visual Arts, Social Sciences or English Education, you can attend the walk-in interview. NCERT SRA and JPF Recruitment 2026 - 5 Posts
National Council of Educational Research and Training (NCERT) has released F.No. 8-2/2026-27/DEAA dated 17 June 2026 for temporary project positions in arts and aesthetics education. These posts are connected with textbook, handbook and bilingual art terminology work under the Department of Education in Arts and Aesthetics. The engagement is purely temporary up to 31 March 2027, so it does not create any claim for regular NCERT employment. You should choose the correct post and PAC code at registration because the notice has separate requirements for JPF, SRA under PAC 8.01 and SRA under PAC 8.02.
Vacancy Breakdown
- Senior Research Associate - PAC 8.02: 3 posts, one each in Visual Arts, Theatre and Music or Dance for textbook and handbook development.
- Senior Research Associate - PAC 8.01: 1 post for the bilingual illustrated dictionary of art terminologies for school education.
- Junior Project Fellow - PAC 8.01: 1 post for the same bilingual art terminology project.
Who Can Apply?
Junior Project Fellow
- Qualification: You need a PG degree in a relevant subject of Performing Arts or Visual Arts with at least 55% marks for General category or 50% marks for SC, ST or PH category.
- Desirable skills: Computer knowledge in MS Office, data processing, report preparation, good communication, writing skills, publications, and proficiency in Hindi and English.
Senior Research Associate
- Qualification for PAC 8.01: PG in Performing Arts, Visual Arts, Social Sciences or English Education with at least 55% marks for General category or 50% marks for SC, ST or PH category.
- Qualification for PAC 8.02: PG in the relevant subject of Performing Arts or Visual Arts with the same 55% or 50% marks condition.
- Experience: You need 2 years of experience in the relevant area. Experience should relate to research, teaching, training, extension activities or content development in school education.
- Desirable skills: MS Office, PPT preparation, file management, word processing, internet browsing, Google Drive style file sharing, websites, e-content repositories, Hindi and English proficiency, and writing with publications.
- Sanskrit knowledge: Preference will be given to candidates who also know Sanskrit.
Age Limit
- Maximum age is 45 years for both SRA and JPF posts.
- Age relaxation: Relaxation will be given as per Government of India rules.
- Degree awaited: Candidates whose degree result is awaited should not apply.
Salary
- Junior Project Fellow with NET or Ph.D.: Rs. 37,000 per month consolidated.
- Junior Project Fellow without NET or Ph.D.: Rs. 35,000 per month consolidated.
- Senior Research Associate with NET or Ph.D.: Rs. 42,000 per month consolidated.
- Senior Research Associate without NET: Rs. 40,000 per month consolidated.
- The notice does not mention DA, HRA or other regular allowances for these temporary project posts.
Selection Process (No Written Exam)
NCERT will select candidates through a walk-in interview and document checking. There is no written examination mentioned in the notice.
