NCERT is hiring 45 Group A, B, and C posts on a deputation basis at its Headquarters in New Delhi and Constituent Units. The posts include Chief Production Officer, Art Officer, Business Manager, Assistant Production Officer, Senior Engineer, Store Officer, Foreman, Editorial Assistant, Semi Professional Assistant, Store Keeper, Jr. Foreman and Fine Mechanic. You must be a serving officer in the Central or State Government meeting the prescribed pay scale and qualifications. The last date to apply is 15 June 2026. Maximum age is 56 years.
National Council of Educational Research and Training (NCERT) Recruitment 2026 - 45 Posts
The National Council of Educational Research and Training (NCERT), an autonomous body under the Ministry of Education, Government of India, has released a notification inviting applications on deputation basis for 45 vacancies across Group A, B, and C categories. There is no written exam — selection is by application screening and committee assessment. Serving central or state government officers, including staff of autonomous bodies, PSUs, and universities, who hold posts in the appropriate pay scale can apply through proper channel.

All posts are filled through deputation from serving officers in eligible organisations.
Who Can Apply?
Service Eligibility
- You must be a serving officer in the Central Government, State Government, Union Territory, Autonomous Organisation, Statutory Body, PSU, University, or Recognised Research Institution.
- You must hold a post in the appropriate pay scale matching the post you are applying for, on a regular basis in the parent cadre or department.
Educational Qualification
- You must possess the educational qualifications prescribed in the Recruitment Rules of the respective NCERT post.
- Group A posts (Production Officer, Business Manager) generally require a relevant degree with 8 years' experience in publishing/printing/sales organisations.
- Group B posts (Foreman, Editorial Assistant, Store Officer) generally require a graduate degree with 3-5 years' relevant experience.
- Group C posts (Jr. Foreman, Store Keeper, Fine Mechanic) require Matric/ITI/Diploma with relevant supervisory or technical experience.
Age Limit
- Maximum age: 56 years as on the closing date of receipt of applications.
- The period of deputation will be regulated as per Central Government guidelines on deputation.
Salary
- Group A (GP 7,600): PB-III Rs. 15,600 – 39,100 with Grade Pay Rs. 7,600 (Level 12)
- Group A (GP 6,600): PB-III Rs. 15,600 – 39,100 with Grade Pay Rs. 6,600 (Level 11)
- Group A (GP 5,400): PB-III Rs. 15,600 – 39,100 with Grade Pay Rs. 5,400 (Level 10)
- Group B (GP 4,600 / 4,200): PB-II Rs. 9,300 – 34,800 with Grade Pay Rs. 4,200 to Rs. 4,600 (Level 6-7)
- Group C (GP 2,800 / 2,400 / 1,900): PB-I Rs. 5,200 – 20,200 with Grade Pay Rs. 1,900 to Rs. 2,800 (Level 2-5)
- You will also get DA, HRA, TA and other allowances as per Central Government rules.
Selection Process (No Written Exam)
Selection is purely deputation-based with no written exam:
- Application Screening: Your application, along with APARs for the last 5 years, Vigilance Clearance, and Integrity Certificate, will be screened by NCERT.
- Committee Selection: Shortlisted candidates will be assessed by the duly constituted selection committee.
- Document Verification: Original documents and service records will be verified before final selection.
Note: No application fee is charged and there is no written exam or interview specified in the deputation notice.

Responsibilities
- Lead production, editorial, business, or technical functions at NCERT headquarters and constituent units as per the post applied for
- Supervise printing, design, publishing, sales, store management, engineering, or library work depending on the role
- Coordinate with regional institutes (Ajmer, Bhopal, Bhubaneswar, Mysuru, Shillong) and production centres for NCERT publications
- Prepare progress reports, estimates, and operational plans for departmental activities
- Manage teams of editorial, technical, and support staff and ensure timely delivery of NCERT outputs
- Follow Central Government rules, recruitment rules, and NCERT service conditions during your deputation tenure
- Maintain accurate records, files, and stock registers as per government procedures
