NCERT is hiring 2 Junior Project Fellows (JPF) for its Department of Elementary Education (DEE) under the NISHTHA project. If you have a postgraduate degree in Child Development, ECCE, Education, Psychology, or Social Science, you can attend the walk-in interview. The interview is on 24 August 2026 in New Delhi. Salary is Rs. 35,000 to Rs. 37,000 per month (consolidated), depending on your qualification.
National Council of Educational Research and Training (NCERT) Junior Project Fellow (JPF) Recruitment 2026 - 2 Posts
The Department of Elementary Education (DEE) at NCERT has released a notice for 2 Junior Project Fellow (JPF) posts under its PAB-approved NISHTHA (Foundational and Preparatory Stage) project for 2026-2027. This project supports teacher training at the foundational and preparatory stage of school education across the country. This is a walk-in interview — there is no online application process. The engagement is purely temporary and contractual, running until 31 March 2027 or the end of the project, whichever comes first. Candidates who already hold a postgraduate degree with the required marks can walk in directly with their documents on the interview date.
Who Can Apply?
- Qualification: You need a Post-Graduate degree in Child Development, ECCE, Education, Psychology, or Social Science with at least 55% marks (50% for SC/ST/PwBD candidates).
- Desirable: Basic computer knowledge, proficiency in MS Office and Excel, data processing and report preparation skills, and good communication skills.
- If your final degree result is still awaited, you should not apply for this post.
Age Limit
- The maximum age limit is 40 years.
- Age Relaxation: As per Government of India norms for SC/ST/OBC/PwBD and other reserved categories.
Salary
- If you are NET-qualified or hold a Ph.D., you will get a consolidated remuneration of Rs. 37,000 per month.
- If you are Non-NET, you will get a consolidated remuneration of Rs. 35,000 per month.
- NET-qualified JPFs can later get enhanced remuneration if they are awarded a JRF and appointed as Assistant Professor, or appointed as Assistant Professor and admitted to a Ph.D. programme.
Selection Process (No Written Exam)
Selection for this post is based on a walk-in interview, not a written test:
- Document Verification: Bring your resume/bio-data, passport-size photo, self-attested photocopies, and original certificates for checking.
- Walk-in Interview: Conducted on the same day after your documents are verified.
The fellowship is purely temporary and does not entitle you to any claim for regular employment in NCERT. The selected candidate is required to join immediately.

- Reach G. B. Pant Block, Department of Elementary Education (DEE), NCERT, Sri Aurobindo Marg, New Delhi-16 on the interview date.
- Register between 9:30 AM and 11:00 AM at the 4th floor, Room No. 421 (candidates arriving after 11:00 AM will not be entertained).
- Carry your resume/bio-data, a passport-size photograph, and self-attested photocopies of every certificate along with your originals.
- If you are currently employed elsewhere, bring a No Objection Certificate (NOC) from your employer.
- Attend the interview at Room No. 418, G. B. Pant Block, from 11:00 AM onward.
No TA/DA will be paid for attending the interview.

Responsibilities
- Support the NISHTHA project team in DEE with data collection and analysis
- Help develop training modules and study material for the Foundational and Preparatory Stage
- Coordinate with schools, teacher educators, and other project stakeholders
- Maintain accurate project records and documentation
- Prepare periodic progress reports for the project
- Assist in organizing workshops, meetings, and field visits
- Support monitoring and evaluation activities under the project
