Indira Gandhi Rashtriya Uran Akademi (IGRUA), an autonomous flying training institute under the Ministry of Civil Aviation, has released Advertisement No. IGRUA/ADVT/16/2026 for one Aircraft Maintenance Engineer position. The role is based at the Fursatganj Airfield in Amethi (UP) and/or the Birsi Airport in Gondia, Maharashtra, and the appointment is contractual for 11 months, extendable. Who Can Apply?

• Qualification: Aircraft Maintenance Engineering or Mechanical Engineering degree, or a B.Sc in Physics, or a B.Sc in Mathematics.
• License: You must hold a Category B1 AME license on at least one aircraft type similar to the Diamond DA40 or DA42 operated by IGRUA.
• Experience: At least 2 years of aviation experience is required.
• Preferred: 2 years working as senior technical staff (Technician or equivalent) is desirable. Candidates with an additional B3 license on composite and/or all-metal aircraft get preference.
• Only Indian nationals are eligible to apply for this post.

Age Limit

• You can be up to 55 years old as on 1 June 2026 to apply for this post.
• This relatively high upper age limit means experienced AMEs nearing retirement from airlines, the armed forces, or other flying training institutes can also apply.

Salary

• Selected candidates get a fixed pay of Rs. 1,25,000 per month.
• You also get campus accommodation (subject to availability), a Medical Allowance of Rs. 25,000 per year, Aviation Allowance, Transport Allowance, and extra pay for working on Gazetted Holidays and second Saturdays.
• A Productivity Allowance is paid for certification work — Rs. 100 per hour for single-engine aircraft and Rs. 200 per hour for multi-engine aircraft — along with TA/DA for outstation duties.

Selection Process
