Allahabad HC Special Judicial Magistrate Recruitment 2026: Overview

The High Court of Judicature at Allahabad wants to appoint a Special Judicial Magistrate (SJM) for the district of Jalaun at Orai in Uttar Pradesh. This is a fixed-honorarium engagement for people who hold or have held a post under the Government and have either a law degree or solid experience in legal affairs that satisfies the High Court.

The term runs for four years from the day you take charge, or until you turn 70, whichever comes first. The notice suits retired government officers with a legal background, and former SJMs appointed by the UP Government can also apply for re-appointment.

Service Conditions and Caveats

• District-bound posting: Once you are selected and appointed for Jalaun, you cannot be transferred to any other district under any circumstances.
• Honorarium, not a pay scale: You get a fixed monthly honorarium with a separate conveyance allowance, not a regular government pay scale.
• Vacancy chart may change: The High Court can correct or update the district vacancy chart from time to time.
• No blank columns: Every column of the application form must be filled; a form with any blank column is rejected.
• Criminal cases: The form asks you to declare any criminal case or FIR pending against you, and a false declaration cancels your candidature.

Application Submission Notes

Send your filled form and self-attested documents to the District Judge, Jalaun at Orai, not to the High Court. Forms sent directly to the High Court are rejected without being processed.

The District Judge checks each application and forwards only those found fit to the High Court, along with remarks. Use the application format attached to the High Court's notice, paste a self-attested photograph on it, and get it signed by your forwarding authority where applicable.
