ICMR-CCP Senior Resident (Pathology) Recruitment 2026 - 1 Post

The Indian Council of Medical Research - Centre for Cancer Pathology (ICMR-CCP), formerly known as the ICMR-National Institute of Pathology, is a premier biomedical research institute under ICMR working on cancer pathology research, diagnostic services and academic training. The notification (No. ICMR-CCP/Sr.Resident/2026-2027) was issued on 13 May 2026 for one post of Senior Resident in the Pathology Lab. There is no written exam — selection is based on screening of applications and a personal interview. The position is open to early-career pathologists who have completed their MD/DNB/DCP within the last three years.

Who Can Apply?

Educational Qualification (Essential)

• You must have an MD (Pathology), DNB (Pathology) or DCP degree from a recognised university or medical institution.
• The qualification should have been completed within the last 3 years as on the date of application.
• You must be registered with the appropriate State Medical Council or Medical Council of India / National Medical Commission.

Reservation

• The post is reserved for OBC (Non-Creamy Layer) candidates only. You must produce a valid OBC-NCL certificate in the Central Government format at the time of interview.

Who Cannot Apply

• Candidates who have already completed Senior Residency at any institution are not eligible.
• Candidates who do not have MD/DNB/DCP certificates in hand, or who are awaiting results, will not be considered.

Age Limit

• Maximum age: 45 years
• Age Relaxation: Up to 5 years for OBC (Non-Creamy Layer) candidates as per Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) rules.
• The prescribed age may be relaxed in exceptional cases for experienced and highly qualified candidates at the discretion of the Institute.
• Age is reckoned as on the last date of application (4 June 2026).

Salary

• Pay Scale: 7th CPC Pay Matrix Level-11 (Rs. 67,700 - Rs. 2,08,700 per month)
• You will also get Dearness Allowance (DA), House Rent Allowance (HRA), Transport Allowance (TA) and other allowances as per Central Government rules.
• Non-practicing Allowance is admissible to medical graduates as per the applicable rules.
• Important conditions: Private practice is not allowed during the tenure. No hostel accommodation will be provided by the Institute.

Selection Process (No Written Exam)

The selection is purely interview and merit-based:

1. Application Screening: All applications will be screened against the eligibility criteria — qualification, year of completion, OBC status and age.
2. Personal Interview: Shortlisted candidates will be called for an interview at ICMR-Centre for Cancer Pathology, New Delhi. The interview date will be communicated by email only to shortlisted candidates.
3. Document Verification: Original certificates will be verified at the time of interview. Any false claim will lead to immediate rejection.
4. Final Selection: Based on overall performance in the interview along with qualification, research aptitude and prior experience (if any).

Tenure of Engagement: The Senior Resident post is tenable for 3 years, renewable on a yearly basis subject to satisfactory performance review by the Institute.
