ICMR Young Professional TB Recruitment 2026: Overview

Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) is hiring Young Professionals for its TB Research Accelerator in the Division of Communicable Diseases at its New Delhi headquarters. These contractual roles bring scientific programme support and information technology into the same research programme. You would help the programme manage its research proposals, project information and analytical work.

Posts and Disciplines

  • Young Professional I, Basic Sciences: This role supports the scientific side of the programme, including evidence summaries, research documentation and coordination with investigators.
  • Young Professional II, Information Technology: This role focuses on research data systems, interactive dashboards and analytical tools used to monitor the programme.

Post-wise Duties

Young Professional I, Basic Sciences

You will help turn published research into evidence summaries, briefs and presentations, while keeping proposal and project trackers current. Your work also includes committee papers, meeting records and coordination with investigators, institutions and internal divisions.

You will support basic data cleaning and quality checks and help keep research records secure. This work connects scientific information with the programme's day-to-day monitoring and documentation needs.

Young Professional II, Information Technology

You will develop and maintain interactive dashboards and secure data pipelines for programme monitoring. The role includes managing user access, reporting views, backups and routine system maintenance, alongside resolving problems with databases and data flows.

You will also prepare reproducible analytical outputs and system documentation, support approved statistical tools and help users work with the systems. Research confidentiality and data integrity are part of this work.

Service Conditions and Caveats

  • Tenure: The initial contract is for one year. Extensions can be granted one year at a time for up to two more years, depending on organisational need and satisfactory performance; total engagement cannot exceed three years.
  • Appointment status: The contract gives no right to a regular appointment, absorption or continued engagement in ICMR or another government organisation.
  • Travel costs: ICMR will not pay travelling or daily allowances for attending recruitment assessments or document verification.
  • Professional conduct: You must follow ICMR rules on confidentiality, information security, conflicts of interest, intellectual property and protection of research and personal data. Relevant undertakings or a non-disclosure agreement may be needed.
  • Recruitment discretion: ICMR can change the number of positions or the recruitment process, reject applications, or withdraw the notice. Incorrect or hidden information can lead to disqualification or termination after appointment; outside influence also leads to disqualification.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare scientific evidence summaries and research briefs for the Basic Sciences role.

Eligibility Criteria

Minimum Qualification

Young Professional II must be able to manage structured research data and use statistical software or programming tools for cleaning, analysis and visualization.

Salary & Compensation

Pay Scale

Young Professional I: Rs. 35,000 per month. Young Professional II: Rs. 42,000 per month. Consolidated monthly pay.

Allowances

No House Rent Allowance is payable. Applicable taxes will be deducted at source.
