Hassan AYUSH CHO and Pharmacist Recruitment 2026: Overview

The District AYUSH Samiti, Hassan, working through the District AYUSH Office of Zilla Panchayat Hassan, is filling contract posts under the National AYUSH Mission, a centrally sponsored scheme run in Karnataka by the Department of AYUSH. The drive covers Community Health Officers for the district's Ayushman Arogya Mandirs, plus specialist doctors and paramedical staff for upgraded AYUSH hospitals across the district.

This is a fresh notification: the office's earlier recruitment notice dated 28 August 2024 was withdrawn, and the posts were re-notified after the AYUSH Directorate's 2026 approvals and the district recruitment committee meeting of 24 September 2026. Selection is merit-based with a short interview, so your marks and AYUSH-hospital experience carry most of the weight.

Posts and Disciplines

• Community Health Officer: BAMS doctors for the Ayushman Arogya Mandirs at Udevara, J.Pura, Uddooru, M.Shivara, Kallugundi, Kuradahalli, Teranya, Dodanakatte, Mavanooru, Muttatti, Lakkuru and Hebbale. The selection committee decides who goes to which centre.
• Pharmacist: AYUSH hospitals and dispensaries at Hassan, Channarayapatna, Holenarasipura, Arsikere and Sakleshpur. B.Pharm holders come first; D.Pharm holders are considered only if no B.Pharm candidate is found.
• Specialist Doctor (Yoga and Naturopathy): Taluk Homeopathy Hospital, Sakleshpur; this post is reserved for a Scheduled Tribe candidate. A BNYS graduate without a PG is considered if no postgraduate applies.
• Specialist Doctor (Ayurveda): District Government Ayurveda and Homeopathy Hospital, Hassan, for an MS (Shalyatantra) or MD (Panchakarma / Kayachikitsa) holder; the post carries the women's horizontal reservation.
• Masseur: AYUSH hospitals at Arsikere and Sakleshpur, for people who have already worked in an AYUSH hospital or clinic.
• Stree Roga Attendant: the women's-ailments unit at Holenarasipura.
• Multi-Purpose Worker: Sakleshpur; reserved for a Scheduled Caste candidate and needs basic computer skills.

Service Conditions and Caveats

• Contract term: The engagement ends on 31 March 2027 or after one year. It can be renewed for the next financial year after a one-day break, with the district committee's approval.
• CHO posts are stop-gap: They last only until permanent medical officers are posted to the Ayushman Arogya Mandirs by transfer or recruitment.
• Headquarters: You must live at your place of posting and be available round the clock for emergency duty.
• Experience proof: Only experience from government or KPME-registered private AYUSH hospitals counts, and the certificate must show the KPME registration number along with your last three months' salary certificate.
• Unfilled reserved posts: If no candidate from the reserved group is found, the post can be filled from the general category with committee approval.
• No transfer or regularisation: You cannot ask for a transfer or deputation, and the contract gives no claim to a permanent post, pension or pay scale.
• Exit: Either side can end the contract with one month's notice; misconduct or repeated absence can lead to removal without notice.
