Burari Hospital Senior Resident Recruitment 2026: Overview

Burari Hospital, run by the Government of NCT of Delhi at Kaushik Enclave, Burari, is filling Senior Resident posts in its Anaesthesia and Pathology departments on an ad-hoc basis. The hospital began as a dedicated COVID facility in 2020 and has offered general services since 2022; it is now a 768-bed hospital with a 50-bed ICU, modern operation theatres and its own oxygen supply, serving roughly 10 lakh people from urban and rural areas.

Selection is through a walk-in interview held every Monday over the interview window, and you are picked purely on the merit list from the interview. There is no written test, so your documents and interview decide everything.

Posts and Disciplines

• Anaesthesia: most of the openings in this drive, spread across the unreserved, OBC, SC and ST categories in the hospital's anaesthesia department.
• Pathology: a single unreserved Senior Resident post in the hospital laboratory.

Service Conditions and Caveats

• Tenure: you are first appointed for 44 days or until a regular candidate joins. It can be extended up to a total of three years on a satisfactory work and conduct report from your head of department and your written request.
• Three-year cap: the three years include any senior residency already done at another government or government-funded institution, and you must not have completed three years of SR already.
• Relaxed-norms list: doctors who have already finished a three-year SR residency may be considered under relaxed norms only if fresh candidates are not available; they get a separate list and a 44-day ad-hoc appointment.
• DMC registration: you must be registered with the Delhi Medical Council for MBBS and your PG qualification on or before the interview day, or show proof that you have applied for it.
• Delhi OBC only: OBC seats go only to Delhi OBC (non-creamy layer) candidates with a certificate issued in the current financial year; otherwise you are refused the interview.
• Reserved seats: if no reserved-category candidate turns up, the seat may go to a candidate from another category on an ad-hoc basis.
• Waiting panel: a waitlist is kept for six months or until a fresh selection, whichever is earlier.
• Notice period: either side can end the contract with one month's notice.
• Travel: no TA/DA is paid for attending the interview.

First fill the online Google Form linked in the advertisement. You will get an auto-generated email with your prefilled application — check your spam folder if it does not arrive — and you must bring a printout of it on the interview day.

Report between 9:00 AM and 11:00 AM to the Office of the Medical Director, Burari Hospital, Kaushik Enclave, Burari, Delhi 110084 with your original documents, self-attested photocopies and two passport photos.
