GGSGH Senior Resident Recruitment 2026: Overview

Guru Gobind Singh Government Hospital (GGSGH), run by the Government of NCT of Delhi at Raghubir Nagar, New Delhi, is filling Senior Resident posts in five clinical departments on a purely ad-hoc basis. The openings are vacant seats in the hospital's sanctioned strength of Senior Residents, plus vacant non-teaching specialist posts counted as on 1 October 2026, which the Health and Family Welfare Department allows to be filled by SRs under its 2017 order.

This is a daily walk-in interview that stays open until the seats are taken, so the sooner you go, the better your chance. If you hold an MBBS with a postgraduate qualification or specialty experience and a Delhi Medical Council registration, you can simply turn up with your papers.

Posts and Disciplines

• Radiology: reserved for OBC and EWS candidates. The Radiology SR will also work 2-3 days a week in the Department of Radiology at Deen Dayal Upadhyay Hospital, Hari Nagar.
• Paediatrics: the largest group in this drive, spread across the SC, ST, OBC and EWS categories.
• Anaesthesia: a single seat in the SC category.
• Medicine: a single seat in the ST category.
• Obstetrics and Gynaecology: a single seat in the ST category.

Service Conditions and Caveats

• Tenure: you are engaged on an ad-hoc basis for 89 days, or until the post is filled by a regular or ad-hoc SR or specialist, whichever comes first.
• Seats can change: the hospital says the number of SR seats may vary at any time, including by the date the result comes out.
• Reserved seats: if no SC, ST, OBC or EWS candidate is available, an unreserved candidate may be considered for that seat.
• Three-year SR rule: you should not have finished three years of Senior Residency (regular and ad-hoc combined). Doctors who have finished it can still apply, but preference goes to those who have not.
• DMC certificate: submit your Delhi Medical Council certificate within two weeks of joining; otherwise your service may be terminated.
• Persons with Disabilities: all provisions for PwD candidates follow the government norms and guidelines.
• Travel: no TA/DA is paid for attending the interview.

Report on any working day between 9:30 AM and 10:00 AM at the Establishment Branch, 3rd Floor, B Block, Guru Gobind Singh Government Hospital, Raghubir Nagar, New Delhi 110027. Bring an application on a standard form with your name, post applied for, father's or spouse's name, date of birth, category, address, DMC registration number, internship completion date, qualifications, contact number and any experience.

Carry attested copies of all certificates, ID and residential address proof, one recent passport photo, and all originals for verification. Results and notices are posted on health.delhigovt.nic.in, ggsgh.delhi.gov.in and the hospital notice board.
