About This Job

GSSSB is hiring 47 Surveyor (Class-3) posts in Gujarat through a Special Recruitment Drive for Persons with Disabilities (Divyang) only. If you have a Diploma in Civil Engineering or an ITI Surveyor course, you can apply online. The last date to apply is 29 May 2026. Gujarat Gaun Seva Pasandgi Mandal (GSSSB), Gandhinagar has released Advertisement No. 411/202627 for 47 Surveyor (Class-3) posts under the Revenue Department, in the offices of the Settlement Commissioner and Director of Land Records. This is a Special Recruitment Drive exclusively for Persons with Benchmark Disabilities (Divyang) to fill the backlog under PwBD reservation. Diploma holders in Civil Engineering and ITI Surveyors with disabilities can apply online through the OJAS portal.

Vacancy Breakdown by Disability Category

All 47 posts are reserved for Persons with Benchmark Disabilities. The disability-wise split is:

  • Group B (Deaf / Hard of Hearing): 17 posts
  • Group C (Locomotor disability, Cerebral Palsy, Leprosy Cured, Dwarfism, Acid Attack Victim, Spinal Deformity, Spinal Injury, Muscular Dystrophy): 12 posts
  • Group D & E (Autism, Intellectual Disability, Specific Learning Disability, Mental Illness, Multiple Disabilities involving B to D 40-70%): 18 posts

Candidates from any reserved category (SC/ST/SEBC/EWS) with disability can apply — they will be adjusted against their respective category. No separate reservation for women or Ex-Servicemen in this special drive.

Who Can Apply?

  • Qualification: You must have one of the following:
    • Diploma in Civil Engineering from a recognised institution / university, OR
    • 1 or 2 years Surveyor course from a recognised Industrial Training Institute (ITI), OR
    • Approved equivalent diplomas like Diploma in Construction Technology, Civil & Rural Engineering, Transportation Engineering, Civil & Environmental Engineering, etc.
  • Important: Candidates holding a Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering are NOT eligible to apply.
  • Computer Knowledge: Basic knowledge of computer application is required as per Gujarat Civil Services Classification and Recruitment (General) Rules, 1967.
  • Language: Adequate knowledge of Gujarati or Hindi or both.
  • Disability: You must be a Person with Benchmark Disability (minimum 40% disability) with a valid Disability Certificate in Form V, VI, or VII as per Rights of Persons with Disabilities Rules, 2017.

Age Limit

  • You should be between 18 and 33 years as on 28 May 2026.
  • Age Relaxation for Divyang candidates (as per category):
    • General Male Divyang: 10 years (max 43 years)
    • General Female Divyang: 15 years (max 45 years)
    • Reserved Male Divyang (SC/ST/SEBC + Divyang): 15 years (max 45 years)
    • Reserved Female Divyang: 20 years (max 45 years)
  • Additional 10 years relaxation under H&FW Department circular dated 15/12/2025 subject to medical board approval (max 45 years).

Salary

  • For the first 5 years: Rs. 26,000 per month fixed pay.
  • After 5 years (on satisfactory service): regular pay scale of Rs. 25,500 - Rs. 81,100 under Pay Level-4 of the 7th Central Pay Commission.
  • You will also get DA, HRA, TA and other allowances as per Gujarat Government rules (after regular appointment).

Selection Process

Selection will be done through a single-stage competitive exam followed by document verification:

  1. Written Exam (CBRT/OMR - MCQ based): 210 questions for 210 marks in 3 hours (180 minutes). Negative marking of 1/4 mark for each wrong answer.
    • Part-A (90 marks): Reasoning & Data Interpretation (30Q), Quantitative Aptitude (30Q), Constitution of India (10Q), Current Affairs (10Q), Gujarati & English Comprehension (10Q)
    • Part-B (120 marks): Surveying technical subject — Surveying, Chain/Tape Survey, Compass Survey, Auto CAD, Plane Table Survey, Theodolite Survey and related topics
  2. Qualifying Standard: Minimum 40% marks in each of Part-A and Part-B (no relaxation in qualifying marks for any category).
  3. Document Verification: About 2x candidates of vacancies called as per disability group merit.
  4. Medical Examination: Final fitness certified by Medical Board.

Exam centres and dates will be published on https://gsssb.gujarat.gov.in. Divyang candidates can avail Scribe and Compensatory Time (20 minutes per hour) facility as per rules.

  3. Click Apply Now and fill in your Personal Details, Educational Details and Disability details.
  4. Accept the assurance and save the form to generate your Application Number.
  5. Upload your photograph and signature (JPG, under 15 KB each).
  6. Confirm the application to get the Confirmation Number.
  7. Pay the fee online through Debit Card / Net Banking / UPI / Wallet.
  8. Take a printout of the application and the fee receipt for your records.

Responsibilities

  • Carry out land surveys using chain, tape, compass, plane table and theodolite at allotted sites
  • Prepare survey maps, field books and plotting sheets for revenue and land records work
  • Update village maps and land records under the Settlement Commissioner's office
  • Use AutoCAD and modern survey instruments to draft digital land plans
  • Assist officers during demarcation of government land, boundary disputes and acquisition surveys
  • Maintain field registers, area calculation records and submit reports on time
  • Coordinate with Talati, Mamlatdar and other Revenue Department staff during fieldwork

Eligibility Criteria

Minimum Qualification

Diploma in Civil Engineering OR ITI Surveyor course (1 or 2 years) from a recognised institution. Bachelor's degree holders in Civil Engineering are not eligible.

Preferred Qualification

Diploma in Construction Technology, Civil Environmental Engineering, Transportation Engineering or equivalent approved courses

Required Skills

Basic computer knowledge; AutoCAD; surveying instruments (chain, theodolite, plane table); adequate knowledge of Gujarati or Hindi
