Gujarat Subordinate Services Selection Board (GSSSB), Gandhinagar has released Advertisement No. 421/202627 for Additional Assistant Engineer (Mechanical), Class-3 under the Narmada, Water Resources, Water Supply and Kalpsar Department. The posts are for Gujarat Water Supply and Sewerage Board, so the work is linked to public water supply and sewerage infrastructure. Selection will be through a CBRT/OMR objective exam and document verification.

Who Can Apply?

Educational Qualification

• Diploma: Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or Diploma in Automobile Engineering from Technical Examination Board, a recognised university, or an equivalent recognised institution.
• Computer Knowledge: Basic computer application knowledge as required under Gujarat Civil Services rules.
• Language: Adequate knowledge of Gujarati or Hindi, or both.

PwD Requirement

• Disability: You must belong to one of the disability groups specifically shown in Advertisement No. 421/202627.
• Certificate: A valid disability certificate in the prescribed Form V, VI, or VII is required.
• Gujarat certificates: Gujarat reserved category benefits require valid certificates from competent Gujarat authorities.

Age Limit

• Minimum age: 18 years as on 20 June 2026
• Maximum age: 33 years as on 20 June 2026 before applicable relaxation
• PwD relaxation: General PwD male candidates get 10 years relaxation, general PwD women get 15 years, reserved PwD men get 15 years, and reserved PwD women get 20 years, subject to the maximum age limits in the notice.
• Government service: Gujarat Government employees may get relaxation as per rules.

Salary

• First five years: Fixed pay of Rs. 49,600 per month.
• After five years: Pay Level-7 of Rs. 39,900 to Rs. 1,26,600 per month after satisfactory service and subject to rules.
• Allowances: Regular pay stage can include DA, HRA, and other Gujarat Government allowances as applicable.

Application Fee

• Divyang candidates: Rs. 400 examination fee
• Payment mode: Online only through Debit Card, Internet Banking, UPI, or Wallet
• Fee payment deadline: 22 June 2026 (23:59 hours)
• The fee is refundable only to candidates who appear for the examination.
• No offline fee mode will be accepted by GSSSB.

Selection Process

Selection will be based on a competitive written exam and later document checking.

1. Written Exam (CBRT/OMR): Objective MCQ paper with Part-A and Part-B. The paper has 210 questions for 210 marks and a total time of 180 minutes.
2. Part-B Technical Paper: Questions will come from Mechanical/Automobile Engineering as per the notified syllabus.
3. Negative Marking: For each wrong answer, 1/4 mark will be deducted.
4. Document Verification: GSSSB will call candidates from the provisional merit list, normally about two times the notified vacancies as per disability group and merit.
5. Final Merit List: Final selection will depend on exam marks, document verification, eligibility, and the notified PwD reservation conditions.

Sports and widow bonus marks may apply as per Gujarat Government rules where valid certificates are produced.

Exam date and call letter details will be announced later on the GSSSB website. Keep your application number, confirmation number, fee receipt, mobile number, and email active until the recruitment process is over.
