GSSSB Additional Assistant Engineer (Electrical) Class-3 Recruitment 2026 - 1 Post

Gujarat Subordinate Services Selection Board (GSSSB), Gandhinagar has released notification number 409/2026-27 for the recruitment of one Additional Assistant Engineer (Electrical), Class-3 post at the Gujarat Maritime Board (GMB) under the Port and Transport Department. The vacancy is reserved exclusively for Divyang candidates under the Special Recruitment Drive to fill the backlog of PwD reservation. Selection is through a single-stage CBRT/OMR objective written exam followed by document verification.

Who Can Apply?

• Qualification: You must hold a Diploma in Electrical Engineering from a recognised Technical Examination Board or any University/Institution established by law in India.
• Computer Knowledge: Basic knowledge of computer applications as per Gujarat Civil Services Classification and Recruitment Rules, 1967.
• Language: Adequate knowledge of Gujarati or Hindi or both.
• Disability: You must be a Divyang candidate with 40% or more benchmark disability. A valid disability certificate in Form V/VI/VII (under Rights of Persons with Disabilities Rules, 2017) is required.
• Domicile: Original Gujarat state SC/ST/SEBC/EWS candidates get reservation and age relaxation benefits.
• Nationality: You must be a citizen of India or meet the nationality requirement under Gujarat Civil Services Rules, 1967.

Age Limit

• You should be between 18 and 35 years old as on 29 May 2026.
• Age Relaxation for Divyang: General category Divyang candidates get 10 years relaxation (max age 45 years). Reserved category Divyang candidates (SC/ST/SEBC/EWS) get 15 years relaxation (max age 45 years).
• Upper age limit can be relaxed for candidates already in Gujarat Government service as per rules.

Salary

• First 5 years: Fixed pay of Rs. 38,090 per month.
• After 5 years: Regular Pay Level-7 (7th CPC) of Rs. 44,900 to Rs. 1,42,400 per month plus DA, HRA and other allowances as per Gujarat Government rules.
• Regular appointment after 5 years is subject to Supreme Court SLP rulings.

Application Fee

• Reserved category (SC, ST, SEBC, EWS, Women, PwBD, Ex-servicemen): Rs. 400

• Fee is refundable to candidates who appear in the written examination.

Selection Process

Selection will be done in the following stages:

1. Competitive Written Exam (CBRT/OMR): Single-stage objective MCQ test with Part-A (General — 90 marks) and Part-B (Technical Electrical Engineering — 120 marks). Total 210 questions for 210 marks in 3 hours (180 minutes). Negative marking of 1/4 mark for each wrong answer.
2. Document Verification: Twice the number of vacancies per disability group called for verification.
3. Final Selection List: Prepared based on written exam marks after qualifying both Part-A and Part-B with minimum 40% marks each.

Sports Bonus: 5% bonus marks (normalized) for candidates who represented India at national/international level or All India School/University level in recognised sports.

6. Upload your passport-size photograph (5 cm x 3.6 cm) and signature (2.5 cm x 7.5 cm) in JPG format under 15 KB.
7. Click "Confirm Application" to generate your Confirmation Number.
8. Pay the fee online via Debit Card, Internet Banking, UPI or Wallets.
9. Take a printout of the application form for your records.

• Handle electrical maintenance and operation work at Gujarat Maritime Board port facilities
• Supervise installation, repair and upkeep of high-voltage and low-voltage electrical systems
• Prepare technical estimates, drawings and specifications for electrical works at ports
• Monitor electrical safety standards and ensure compliance with IE rules
• Assist senior engineers in commissioning new electrical equipment and substations
• Manage spare parts inventory and coordinate with vendors for electrical supplies
• Prepare site reports, work logs and maintenance schedules for electrical assets
