Advanced Weapons and Equipment India Limited (AWEIL), a Defence Public Sector Undertaking under the Ministry of Defence, has released a notification (Advt. No. AWEIL/11/2026) for 8 Consultant Accounts posts reserved exclusively for retired personnel. These posts are spread across AWEIL's Kanpur headquarters and seven of its production units in Uttar Pradesh, West Bengal, and Madhya Pradesh. Only retired Central/State Government, PSU, or government autonomous body employees with accrual-based accounting experience can apply — this is a contract engagement, not a permanent government job, and freshers cannot apply.

Who Can Apply?

• Qualification: B.Com / M.Com / CA-Inter / CMA-Inter with a good academic record. CA or CMA qualified candidates will be preferred.
• Experience: You must have retired from a Central/State Government department, PSU, or government autonomous body, with 20 years of accrual-based accounting experience covering bookkeeping, receivables, payables, payroll, banking, taxation, costing, budgeting, insurance, and audit work. Candidates with 20 years of corporate finance experience (working capital management, consolidation of accounts, corporate taxation, budgeting) will also be considered.
• Place of Posting: AWEIL HQ Kanpur, Ordnance Factory Kanpur, Small Arms Factory Kanpur, Field Gun Factory Kanpur, Ordnance Factory Project Korwa (UP), Gun and Shell Factory Cossipore (WB), Rifle Factory Ishapore (WB), or Gun Carriage Factory Jabalpur (MP) — one post at each location.

Age Limit

• Your age should not exceed 64 years as on the last date of receipt of application. In no case will the engagement continue beyond 65 years of age.

Salary

• You will get a consolidated salary of Rs. 1,00,000 per month (Remuneration Rs. 90,000 + Conveyance Rs. 6,000 + Medical Rs. 3,000 + Mobile/Internet Rs. 1,000).
• Your salary will be increased by 10% every year. No other allowances are admissible.

Selection Process (No Written Exam)

Selection is based only on an interview:

1. Shortlisting: Candidates are shortlisted in a 1:10 ratio against the number of vacancies, based on total experience or, where experience is not mandatory, marks obtained in the qualifying exam.
2. Interview: Conducted by a duly constituted AWEIL selection committee.

• Prepare financial statements in compliance with Accounting Standards (Ind-AS) and Schedule-III of the Companies Act 2013
• Finalize quarterly and annual financial statements with the finance division

• File periodical returns and complete bank reconciliation on time
• Handle statutory compliances and respond to GST, Income Tax, and TDS notices
• Prepare memos, checklists, and timely finance reviews for the unit/headquarters
• Scrutinize ledgers and get necessary rectifications done
• Coordinate with audit agencies to settle observations on books of account and cost records
