BCW Bankura Additional Inspector Recruitment 2026: Overview

The Office of the Project Officer-cum-District Welfare Officer, Backward Classes Welfare and Tribal Development (BCW and TD), Bankura is hiring Additional Inspectors on contract for its work across the blocks and municipalities of Bankura district. This is not an opening for fresh job seekers. It is meant only for people who have already retired from West Bengal government service.

If you retired as an Inspector BCW and TD, Extension Officer, Head Clerk or UD Clerk, this drive gives you a way back into active work close to home. The posts cover the gap until regular Inspectors BCW join, so think of it as a stop-gap engagement rather than a new career. Retired staff of the BCW and TD Department itself get special preference, since they already know the department's schemes and paperwork.

Service Conditions and Caveats

• Last pay scale matters: Your eligibility depends on the pay scale you drew at retirement, not only on your old designation. Check the qualification details on this page before you apply.
• Contract only: The engagement is purely contractual. It can be renewed if your work is satisfactory.
• How long it lasts: The engagement ends at 65 or when a regular Inspector BCW joins that post, whichever comes first.
• Department approval: Every selection still needs the approval of the BCW and TD Department, Government of West Bengal.
• Place of work: You can be placed in any block or municipality of Bankura district.
• Final say: The decision of the Selection Committee is final.
• Interview reporting time: The notice gives two different times for the interview day, 11 A.M. in its opening paragraph and 10 A.M. in its notes. Plan to reach the venue by 10 A.M. to be safe.

This is an offline application. Fill in the Annexure-I application form, attach the photocopies it lists, and put the hard copy into the drop box at the Project Office-cum-District Welfare Office, BCW and TD, Natunchati, Bankura 722101. The box is open on working days up to 5 P.M., except holidays.

You can get the form from the district website bankura.nic.in, from the BCW and TD office in Bankura, or from any SDO or BDO office in the district. Shortlisted candidates are interviewed at the Conference Hall of the District Magistrate, Collectorate Building, Bankura. Bring your original documents along with a set of photocopies.
