Regional Centre for Biotechnology (RCB) Project-JRF Recruitment 2026 - 1 Post

Regional Centre for Biotechnology (RCB), an autonomous institution under the Department of Biotechnology, Government of India, has released notification Advt. No. 19/Project/2026/HR for one Project-JRF position under Principal Investigator Dr. Prem S. Kaushal, Associate Professor. The project is titled "Structural and biochemical analysis of EccA1+EspC complex, EccC+EsxAB complex and EccD1 transporter from M. tuberculosis ESX-1 system: Key targets for drug development." This research studies protein complexes in the tuberculosis bacterium that could become new drug targets for treating TB, which remains one of India's biggest public health challenges. There is no written exam — selection is entirely through an online interview, which makes this a fast-track opportunity for recent postgraduates in life sciences. RCB is based at the NCR Biotech Science Cluster in Faridabad and also runs PhD and doctoral training programmes in biotechnology, so this JRF role can be a good stepping stone toward a research career.

Who Can Apply?

  • Qualification: You need an M.Sc. in Life Sciences along with NET / DBT-JRF / GATE or an equivalent qualifying exam cleared in your Master's degree or equivalent.
  • Preferred Skills: Research experience in gene cloning, protein purification, and cryo-electron microscopy will be an advantage. Good oral and written communication skills and a strong motivation for a research career are also preferred.

Age Limit

  • You should be up to 26 years old as on 31 July 2026.

Salary

  • You will get a fellowship of Rs. 37,000 per month plus 27% HRA during the project period.
  • The initial project duration is one year.
