NIT Goa Faculty Recruitment 2026: Overview

National Institute of Technology Goa (NIT Goa), an Institute of National Importance under the Ministry of Education, is building its teaching and research teams across engineering, applied science and humanities. The drive covers Assistant Professor, Associate Professor and Professor positions at its South Goa campus. Post-wise Duties

Assistant Professor

You will teach core and elective courses, run laboratories where relevant, guide student projects and begin an independent research programme in your discipline.

Associate Professor

You will lead advanced teaching and research, supervise scholars, develop funded work and take on department-level academic responsibilities.

Professor

You will shape the department's research direction, mentor faculty and doctoral scholars, build external partnerships and support institutional academic leadership.

Service Conditions and Caveats

• Vacancy position: the institute may increase, decrease or leave posts unfilled, and treats the institution as one unit for reservation.
• Faculty framework: appointments follow the four-tier flexible faculty rules in the NIT Statutes and the applicable Ministry clarifications.
• Existing NIT Goa faculty: serving regular faculty may seek movement to a higher cadre in their department under the separate statutory conditions described in the notice.
• Probation: regular appointments normally carry a one-year probation that the appointing authority may extend.
• Academic background: a recent Ph.D. from NIT Goa normally needs a three-year gap before this recruitment's closing date, unless the stated exception applies.
• Interview costs: the institute will not pay TA or DA, so shortlisted candidates arrange their own travel and stay.
